Hey guys I just format my laptop (again) and I still have the atidxx32.dll error on windows 8 64bits while playing assassin's creed 3, it will basically crash
Drivers : the new 12.11b 11 , cap 2 is also installed
Intel : driver 2875
Now what I found it is the dll is missing from system 32 !
I download one from Atidxx32.dll download - OriginalDLL.com , it doesn't seems to crash anymore but I have a lot of freeze , like 5 bloody sec freeze !
If there anyone on win 8 could you provide me your dll or even win 7 I'll try it .

When you say "crash," do you mean the game freezes up, forcing you to ctrl+alt+del to exit out via task manager? I was experiencing that problem with Crysis 2 last week. Sometimes the game would work fine for several hours, then start freezing every couple of minutes. Oddly enough, playing the game in windowed mode completely solved the issue. It freezes much less now, but when it does I restart the game in windowed mode and play like that for a while. I wasn't able to find a concrete solution online, but I did notice that some drivers seemed more stable than others, with 12.11P being the most stable in Crysis 2. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If the problem continues, try running in windowed mode for a while to see if the freezing persists. I'm on Windows 7 btw.

Hmmm
That is weird.
Just been playing Assassin Creed 3 for like a few hrs no issues whatsoever.
Running with AMD Catalyst 12.11 beta 11 and with Win 7 ultimate 64bit.
Maybe Win 8 still buggy but I have heard of others getting that Atidxx32.dll error
What's your hardware?
ps-Could be an enduro issue/bug...seems to be quite a few still existing.. -

sounds about right lol. It sucks on my laptop too.
Sorry to hear about the 7970m, that sucks. I hope the 7970 plays AC3 ok, every 7970m owner I've talked to says that it's a mess

I have the same problems running the fully patched Steam version of Shogun 2. I am using AMD Radeon HD 7900M on Windows 8. I attempte to load the game and was presented with an error saying it could not launch. I have purchased other Total War games from Steam and these run into the same issue.
Just got my new Horize P150HM Notebook!

Apparently, this is pretty commonplace for several games; looks like it has something to do with the AMD installer. Hopefully that guide helps.
Essentially, the .dll was included in the installer, but there was a bug where the installer was not copying it during the install process. A few users tried that install method and reported success. -

Yes I read this before, I don't have any BSOD and the last drivers is working fine on my system after a fresh install , that's why having the dll from someone on windows 8 will simplify the task and avoid me to mess with the driver again. -

I'm a little confused about the guide from that thread. I says you're supposed to install catalyst 10.6, then install the latest catalyst over it? Seems... odd.
I checked my windows32 folder and ati32.dll isn't there, just like OP. I'm using Windows 7, so do I just need to find the latest .dll and copy it to my windows32 folder? -
It shouldn't be in there if you are running Windows x64. System32 is where the x64 files go. syswow64 is where the 32 files go. atidxx32.dll goes in syswow64 and bet it's in there. It's just Ubisoft being morons.
- Especially considering Nvidia users are getting the same error.
- That's what happens when you get a company who thinks it's a great idea to just slap on DX11 to their Dunia engine which seems largely unchanged since CryTek created CryEngine 1. Hurr hurr, durr, go Ubisoft :/ -
So AC3 does perform better with 6990m than 7970m (enduro)? This is rather troubling. I hope that AMD doesn't indeed have to fix Enduro for every new game separately.

So it says. It didn't seem to work for 100% of the users that tried it, but had some success. :/
Did you search in the start menu search field? IF it's in any of your directories, I would avoid "moving" any .dll. It's more likely to cause more problems.
