Your admin Andrew has crossed the line with me, I would like to request that your company contact me regarding his actions and the true policies of this site and forums which I am sure he does not reflect.

I am also sure you are well aware of the debate and thread located here:

in which Gophn hot links to our images and alters facts that are presented in our reviews.

And your Admins response below it is touchy at best while insinuating that my response is "fishy". Allow me to make it crystal clear to you that we at TechwareLabs while having no need whatsoever to justify our post do indeed support Killer Notebooks as we have found them to be superior products on the market, and that there is no financial relationship at all between us and Killer Notebooks.

I would like an apology from Andrew posted in your forums as this would go a long way to restoring my faith in your site.

 

But you posted to a thread from September...so he shut it down because the issue was dead. I don't see anything wrong with what he did.

 

and i guess you should cool down a little bit. actually i don´t see the big problem with gophn´s post.

Anyway, as said, the thread was dead.

And I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but if a company feels it is being falsly accused, I'm sure they can find better ways to get things fixed, than making a tread like this!

 

Maybe it was this quote that got the response from the admin

"I have taken the liberty to correct the images quoted with ones that represent technically correct and updated ones. Gophn you have my permission to choke on them. Do not let me find you mis-quoting and abusing my website for your gain again."

That's a threat in my book.

 

Wouldn't it be best to contact the management of these forums directly instead of making a post? At least make the post in the feedback section of the site.

Any ways, Gophn has nothing to gain by posting what he did. He isn't a reseller nor does he sell anything on this site so I am not sure why you made that remark.

oh and you dont know the the whole fiasco we had with killer notebooks latley. thats y he brought up that fact.

Probably using NBR to trump up some 'controversy' to publicize his site. Notebookreview has way way more vistors than that p.o.c site can ever hope to get.

Dude, u wrote something in their web space, so their allowed to do whatever to that and write any response they want. You don't like it, then maybe you should leave. But considering that the admins are the ones who are paying for this website, they are allowed to do whatever you want.

And who are you anyway? Why does Andrew have to write an apology just so it restores your faith is this site? Who really cares what you think of this site? I sure don't...

I agree with everything that was said. This whole fiasco was started with Killernotebooks trying to hock there wares on this site and influence consumer discussions and decisions. As for that thread 6months he was only trying to prove a point about the heat sinks , I dont think he ever slagged off the website in question at all. This is a brilliant website were the consumers can meet and discuss all aspects about computing , ITS CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH , and we will slag off any computer we dont like especially they turn up peddling their wares like some peasant selling apples , because thats our right as consumers. P*** of TWL you F***** W******

It seems that JasnTWL claims that he is the owner of the image that Gophn has made a link to. The link is to NewEgg.com.

Therefore he is claiming to be the owner of NewEgg.com.

I seriously wonder what the owners of NewEgg.com think about this claim.
Maybe JasonTWL can expect a letter from their lawyer 'who will as I am sure bury him in a forest of legal action paperwork'

If you run a site and forum yourself you should have known that digging up a thread that is several months old and no longer gets views will raise eyebrows and make people wonder what's going on. Directly confronting one of the respected forum members and telling them to "choke" wasn't exactly friendly as a first post, so I don't know why you'd expect to generate good faith with people here by doing that.

And I'll go ahead and leave this public now that it's already posted and has many responses, it really shouldn't be though.

 

You know I used to like the idea behind "Killer Notebook's" and the owner Mark. But after reading several of his posts and people like this it just makes me never want to deal with them. That's IMO, feel free to sue if you like!

I have been following this debacle. I see many people are slamming a company and what they are saying appear to be lies. So I want to post about that issue.

There are a lot of people engaging in "personal attacks" that should be toned down.

As far as the thread being dead. I will admit that I read this somewhere else. I didn't think of it myself. It did make me realize something.

The very first thing that comes up is that post. That is not DEAD. He actually has a really good point there.

He was not pointing out the obvious as I read the "actual" review at TechWareALabs, I also went to K|N's website and read about the heat sink mods and what Gophn said was a lie. Plain and simple. That so many people think that Gophn is correct is the problem.

Let's say this is a forum that your friends and family came to. Your colleagues come to. The people you work for with come to. One day a post shows up that you don't even know about. The next day you come into work and find out that the boss wants to see you. He says he read on the company intranet that you stole some office supplies and that he was going to dock you a weeks pay!

What if you were banned from replying. You can not defend yourself in any way. Anyone that tried to stand up for you was banned from talking too. That does not seem fair. So I can see why the guy could be pretty angry about that.

You go to school. You build a reputation. You work hard to get to where you are. Then someone lies about you. I read that the person who posted those things about the heat sink. He doesn't have a notebook from them. He was also told at least 2 times more than 6 months prior that his information was wrong. So why is he posting lies? And why are we censuring other peoples posts and points of view?

If it was about you. If it was about your family. If it effected what you had built, would you be so cavalier? That is MY problem with this whole debacle.

That is the type pf "personal" attack I mean. You are trying to discredit someone. You tell part of a story. The part that supports what you said. I went to their review section. I counted 237 TOTAL hardware reviews. That is a lot of reviews. It doesn't show me a bias towards any one company.

 

Well, 1st of all, If I was making a buisness like that, I probably wont be dealing w/ illegal CPU's and tricking my customers (Not to mention being Overpriced).

Also, prove to me why not to belive Gophn, I went to ur website and looked at the pics, and what Gophn says seems to be right. Just because you say its a lie, where is the proof.

I was hesitant on buying from Clevo in the past, cause they were unknown. BUt after viewing the NBR threads and the posts of paladin, Gophn, Chaz, Justin and other senior forum members, I decided to get one. When I thought of who to purchase from, Powernb and Xotic came 1st to mind. WHy? Because they are so helpful in the forums. They do not try to force their product on someone else. I have seen some of your posts in the past, and they were always linking to the fact how everyone should buy from you guys and so on. One thing that amazed me about Justin and Paladin, is that although they are competing for the same money and so on, they compliment each other. Sure, there here to sell their products, but they are helpful, while ur posts are just advertisments. About the CPU issue, I would have sacrificed 0.2 Ghz of proccesing power for a reputable reseller like Xotic or powernb anytime. I have nothing against you, but as a reseller your 1st priorty should be service, not any of the following: faux mods, illegal cpus, advertising and flaming on boards. Thank you for reading.

For starters you should thank Gophn for pointing out that you had erroneous information on the pics in question and that you, and I am quoting you: “I have taken the liberty to correct the images quoted with ones that represent technically correct and updated ones”.

As for Gophn he did not do anything wrong he was pointing out what you claim to have corrected and I can tell you that he has nothing against you, Killernotebooks or anyone else. He has a wealth of information that he gladly shares with others to help them out and on numerous occasion he pointed out ways to people that would not only do the same things that they would have gotten from Sager or any other seller but also for a fraction of the price. Oh, and he also provided pics and links.

Had he hot linked, as you put it, in a way that would have helped you, I seriously doubt you would be making threatening insulting posts. But since he pointed out a false fact and provided a cheaper alternative, hence the link to newegg.com, you are throwing a fit.

You know.. You get a lot more bees with honey. Had your tone been something like: “Well guys and Gophn, I would appreciate it if you would contact me first when you feel that something on my site is in you opinion wrong before making links to it or claiming that it is wrong, so I can look into it and if it is wrong I’ll correct it and if not I’ll provide an explanation and if you want to hotlink to my site please let me know.” Would have gain you a lot of respect and positive points on this forum. But to come on with both barrels blasting, threaten and bully people will get exactly what you got so far on this Forum.

It takes a big man to admit he mad a mistake, it takes a bigger man to apologize for it. All is not lost, we all have bad days and sometimes we do things at the spur of the moment that we regret. A small apology will go a long way…

In my opinion Andrew did the right thing. The fact that the Admins have not killed this thread should show you that they are reasonable understanding people who support Freedom of Speech and the freedom for one to express his/her opinion. Yes we Have FREEDOM OF SPEECH in this country, thank GOD for that, and people are encouraged to use this right but they do not have the right to use it to INSULT or THREATEN others.

For the record I have been a member of this forum for a few months and I do not have any personal ties or know anyone on this forum personally.

 

Some how I doubt there is no connection to killer notebooks give the way you pursue this in very much the same way the previous new users did that came to promote and defend them. Every single one mysteriously registered just to pot on these subjects.

What these people don't realize is the idea of "no press is bad press" doesn't apply here. All this tactics are doing is turning this whole community of to KN.

I read the entire thread.... and I had to step back to think about it. I apologize if you feel what is done on this is site damaging to your business, but I post only what I have seen. That old post with the M570U and the modded heatsinks was what I saw at the time.

I do not mind criticism, but like I replied to the person that who informed me...



So I have seen in your rant against me and the actual custom manufactured heatsinks... they look cool. If you would have MSG'ed or email me, I would have acknowledged that.



I was going to make a thread yesterday about this, but was giving myself a day to make an eloquent reply to your thread.

In any case, I am always open to being corrected... just point me to the right direction (pics help).

It's not good form to be bashing other members for simply stating their opinions. I'll have to think twice if I were in the notebook market about KillerNotebooks.com or recommending to others. What you do, as a sales representative, and your posts regarding these kinds of matters reflect not only yourself, but your company as a whole as well. From a customer standpoint, it certainly doesn't look good if a SALES REP is TRASHING others in a forum for simply stating their opinions. It shows immaturity and my confidence in the company would certainly be lessened as a result for these outbursts.

 

I'm totally starting to dislike this whole KN thing. I don't like when people try to make fun of others by using offensive language. If one wants to prove to another person that his actions are the right ones, he will certainly not use this kind of language. I don't mind contradictory discussions, but everything has it's limit. However, I feel that this forum has it's fair share of guilt in this matter. How much it doesn't matter. I believe ignorance is the best way to avoid things like this happening again.

So, after reading through the 5 pages of the thread of the guruofgaming forum. I one thing that I have to say. WHAT?!?!?

After reading through pages of ranting, I find proof that mark, or whoever is lying through their teeth.

I have taken a screen shot of one of his posts in which he tells everyone that the Notebook Review mods have edited one of Gophn's posts. As shown in the attachments. I did this because I feel that once word got out, that post will disappear.
