    Hi Folks,

Need a little bit of help trying figure out this strange audio issue.

Whenever I start to play any kind of audio, there's a fade-in affect. I've tried disabling sound blaster software and this effect is still there. This happens on speakers as well as via the headphone jacks.

The worst of the problem is that when I'm watching videos/movies and if there's even small window with low/no audio this thing ramps down the volume and quickly builds it back up again. This creates annoying clicks and crackles which becomes bothersome when going through training videos.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Go into the realtek panel, click the battery symbol at the bottom right next to the ok button and choose your options.

Hi @Meaker@Sager , Already had it set to power down when only battery. I've now disabled it and it is still the same. So I don't think this a software issue.

I even did a fresh installation of Windows 10 to see if the problem was due to my installation.

It really should not do that then, it may well be hardware related from the sounds of it.

Thanks @Meaker@Sager. Guess it's another RMA for this. Not happy at all.

No need to RMA, I noticed same thing when I first got my P670HS-G, but doesn't seem to happen anymore after installing latest drivers from Clevo site (probably the audio driver specifically).

The problem most likely is with the Realtek driver. The basic Microsoft audio driver doesn't have these issues and is surprisingly recent (July 2017, IIRC). You'll need to uninstall the Realtek driver, and you can use Group Policy Editor to prevent Windows Update from downloading it again. If you have Windows 10 Pro, Group Policy Editor is included, and it is possible to add it to Home - just do a Google search, and you'll find out how. Once you have access to GPE, follow my instructions here to disable the driver update. Good luck.

Thank you both of you. I just un-installed both the Realtek driver that I had and the Creative Soundblaster stuff. No more issues. Plus it has a a very decent volume at max settings (Realtek Drivers had a lower volume than MS ones and I had to use Creative SB suite to pump up volume).

@saturnotaku, yes the driver is from July 2017 and I'm running Win 10 Pro. I'll look into the GP Edit stuff :)

Well, this fix only lasted about a week. Fade-in affect is no longer there however, the crackle is still there :(
