How is the 8 Channel Advanced SRS WOW Surround Sound System?

    By itself using laptop speakers?

And with a 5.1 surround sound system?

Also, the Integrated Media Card Reader, does it support those big 4 gig flash cards that go in the professional Nikon Cameras?

you can connect the notebook to have 8-CH (7.1) audio using SPDIF to a reciever.

The Card Reader should be able to support all current flash memory... even SDHC.

Isn't SRS just software? Shoulden't the sound system (speakers) in other resellers of the 9262 be the same?

SRS Wow improves the dynamic audio performance of compressed audio... which can be toggled.

multi-channel sound (6-channel or 8-channel) will require your to connect the notebook to a external sound system/receiver.

The onboard sound will be nice, but the speaker sound will depend on the choice of speakers,be it the ones onboard or others you get.
The sound output is pretty nice with a good system, I had my onboard sound ported to a 5.1 ALtec Lansing system and wham that was nice and loud, crisp and good bass all around...

Unless you are an audiophile I think the built in sound is good and SRS is a software.

The sound is very good for a laptop, haven't pluged it into my 5.1 yet. How do you enable SRS?

Fn+2 (note 2, not f2), you should notice an instant difference if you do it while playing music or a film. If it sounds like the sound is coming from the inside of the laptop, srs is off, if it sounds much richer and better srs is on

Should just be hardware...I'm pretty sure it's still fn+2 on the 901c, might want to double check with a 901c user...

So basically with a computer with the microphone out, headphone out and the SDPIF out (like the m860tu), I can plug in the three plugs for my 5.1 speakers into those plugs and I'd be getting 5.1 surround sound from my Logitech speakers and Boom box?

Also, how does everyone feel about having those plugs in the front of the system, same with the firewire, does it become troublesome or is it unnoticeable?

P.S. theriko, how is the 'glassview' of your 17 inch? I'm assuming glossy. How is the glossy screen for you?

@theriko:Is the SRS only for systems that came from PCMW and over SPDIF or for all laptops and over the headphones?

The srs is for any clevo system (570ru/901c at least, probably the others too), it is in the hardware.

I love the glossy screen, all the colours are really vibrant and I very rarely notice any reflections (although I don;t use my laptop outside/in direct sunshine)

Is it only for audio via SPDIF?Never heard any difference from laptop speakers.Or is there a driver or something else needed to activate it?
