Hi guys, has anyone who owns one of these models done any audio work with it (production/DJing etc)?

I'm worried about stuttering and latency which can be seen when running with DPC Latency Checker.

I've heard Sager/Clevo lock down their BIOS pretty tight so it's hard to do any adjustment/tweaking to eliminate audio issues.

Any experiences on the audio side of things with these models would be much appreciated!

    Thanks! :D

You are a life saver! Rep points added - thank you so much! This was the only thing stopping me from buying one of these notebooks.

Has anyone with a 15 inch model had similar results?

Thanks again for taking the time to test!

Just for future reference for anyone considering a purchase, the W150 has low latency and works flawlessly with real-time audio editing and mixing.

You are SERIOUSLY considering using the built-in audio interface for DJ-ing and mixing????
Get real and buy an external USB soundcard, or a DAC that supports optical-in.
You seem to be more worried about latency than actual audio quality....

I use an external mixer from Native Instruments. All I needed was to know whether latency was an issue. Audio processing is handled by the external device which obviously has to communicate with my software via the USB port. Coincidentally I have problems when running the Kontrol S4 box through any of the USB 3 ports. It works find using the USB 2 port.

Been using CLEVO for professional music production for years now.
I even use it to play live, with Kore 2 or Sonar X1 / X2.
I wrote some articles with tips about this matter in a personal blog, but it is all in Portuguese and not English.

From my experience i can say you can really tune this machine for really low latency, just like you can see from the DPC latency results.

But there´s a down side to this laptops, the firewire. If you go really into professional audio you will want firewire for interfaces like the RME, MOTU, and so on... and well... the Jmicron Firewire in most machines is crap. It´s a real shame you can´t have ports like miniExpress Card to add a good firewire port with Texas Instruments chip.

A miniXpress Card port is available in X7200 (my favorite), P180HM and the new P570, if i´m not mistaken.

So for Audio, it´s good but you will have to keep living in the USB Audio Interface World. A good thing is that most manufactures are now offering hybrid solutions with USB2, like the Motu 828 MK3 Hybrid. Not a better solution then Firewire for multi-track recording, but still decent.
