I have an issue with my speakers. They sound muffled, as if they were playing from far away. Now, I don't know if the speakers are just bad or if it's a problem that can be fixed. I have all drivers installed, sound blaster and realtek. So is there anything I can do?

Did you try hooking up a pair of headphones?

Yes, hey sound kind of muffled as well. And changing the audio output using the sound blaster software does not make any difference. Although what I'm using are just apple earpods, I don't have any fancy headsets.

Do you have any enhancements enabled in the Windows sound/Playback devices settings?

For example? Cause I may have tinkered a little with the playback settings.

To simplify it, I would disable them altogether and test again. That this is happening even through externally connected earphones makes it seem like either a setting, driver malfunction, or possibly an issue with the audio chip.

You may want to uninstall and re-install the audio drivers.

Leave off the Soundblaster package while you're at it. I don't have it installed on my system, and it gets along just fine.

Ok so I uninstalled all audio drivers (including the sound blaster software) and reinstalled them. Now the speakers still sound muffled and the volume is lower. Also, now the Realtek HD Digital audio playback device won't make any sound
