Seems like sometimes when I boot up my computer some things fail to load right away or at all, for example the keyboard lights sometimes stay on the default blue until I open the program manually and force them to load properly.

Some audio profiles or audio configurations also don't seem to load up properly sometimes. Actually only happened twice so far. The first time, the problem went away by itself after a day or two.

Now it happened again, and it's really annoying me. Music and sounds in general feel very different (lower in volume, flatter sound), and also windows media player makes the song quiet down if a notification sound from some other application is played.

I don't know how to make things go back to normal.

There's lots of different audio settings in various places, the ones that confuse me the most are the ones in the Clevo Control Center:

There's Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 that can be set to Enable or Disable, and Headphones with various presents (Music, Game, Theater and Game).

Messing around with all of those didn't seem to make it any better. In fact those same settings don't seem to bring actual changes to the audio output some of the times, which makes it quite confusing.

I've also noticed that despite having a subwoofer, when I go to Sounds>Speakers>Levels, if I mute the volume of the front speakers, everything is muted, while I would expect that the subwoofer, whose sound bar is still kept at 100 volume, should still be heard. So that's weird too.

Anyways I tried rebooting a few times but no luck. Although at some point, as the keyboard lights finally went from the default blue to the ones they are configured at, the audio also changed to a crispier one, but it still wasn't to the level it used to be. Confusing, right?

I have no idea what's going on. Anything I can do about this? >_<

    Ignorant,
What ever happened to your notebook?
Was it repaired/fixed? I never recall a follow up and is this the same notebook as that one which had problems?

    Curious.

Hi TR2N, yes the problem was solved, after many weeks looking into a lot of different things like temperatures and underclocking. Eventually it was discovered that I had a malware since the first couple of weeks I had the laptop, and that was what was really affecting performance. After that was removed, everything worked normally and at the full potential that I was expecting from the beginning, despite some people telling me that the limits that my machine was hitting, like low FPS in GTA, were normal and to be expected for my specs.

    Anyways.

Audio problem still present. It's driving me mad since the audio levels seem to be constantly fluctuating while playing music. Like one song would seem to be loud and another one would seem more quiet. Before everything seemed to play on the same level of volume.

Another thing I noticed is that, for example, if I unmute a youtube video that is playing, the music in Windows Media Player will be automatically quieted down. If then I mute the video again, the volume in WMP is raised back to what it was in a few seconds. And it quiets down the music even if other sounds play like notifications from various apps. Odd. It wasn't doing like this before. But at least this particular quirk lets me prove that something did change in the way the sound is played, since everything sounds different now. Music is still flat.

I think I had a specific audio profile with specific settings before and that profile is not loading up anymore. Not sure how I can get it back.
