AuthenTec Trusuite (on my new P170SM) has issues on Windows 8. Namely, it will only launch websites using IE10 and not Chrome, my default browser. I've gone through the FAQ on their website where it suggests to delete registry keys. I did. Still same issue. I think it's because of Windows 8 incompatibility. However, it seems the company has gone bankrupt and offers no support at all on their products anymore. The website says that they are working on a Windows 8 version of the program, but who knows how old that information is as it looks as though the website hasn't been updated in ages - and almost a year since Windows 8 launched and still no updated program - it looks unlikely that that vapourware will ever be released.

Why do Clevo use a bankrupt company's product on their machine? Any alternative software programs that are compatible with this particular fingerprint reader?

    EDIT: solved, see below.

Pretty sure they are not Bankrupt. Apple has licensed a patent from them.

Apple acquired them in October of last year.

After seeing the support page, it looks like it could be awhile before they update the driver to address the problem you're having, Cakefish.

Weird that your reseller chose to install the TruSuite software. Clevo only lists the TC drivers for the fingerprint reader. Those TC drivers are Windows 8 compatible.

Your supplier and/or Clevo should have it.
