    I use to have that option on my alienware... where is it? :(

    I found a thread but its about 2 years old... and most likely not about the np6110.

    is there anything that can be done to get that option back??

    I have not seen an option like that based on my experience with my NP9150. The Fn+F1 combination is still a really efficient way to turn the touchpad on and off if you have that option with your NP6110.

    Yeah, check it, on my 8150 it is the Fn+F1.

    Check with HTWingnut, he has/had the Lappy and knows all about it. He is on these threads all the time.

    Hey guys,

    I know Fn+F1 works but I need to do it every time I reboot my computer (or turn it back on.. you get the drift...)

    I was simply wondering if there was an option or a way to make sure that every time I plug my mouse it gets disable.

    Its not a big deal, I'll have to get use to it otherwise... its just that I'm not use to that and I usually forget to disable it and I hit the touch pad by mistakes and shift my cursor away... it can get annoying.

    That should not be a very difficult thing to program. Any coder with too much free time on his hands?

    Go into your Device Manager, right click on the touchpad > Disable (or click Properties > Driver tab > Disable).

    I suppose you could disconnect the ribbon cable if it really came down to it, also.

    You can always re-enable it in Device Manager, too. That's probably your best bet. It will just be annoying.

    There's no hotkey or button that will do the trick for you though.

    Try this

    Run RegEdit and modify [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh]
    "DisableIntPDFeature"=dword:00000033

    then open your touchpad properties > device settings > put a check on "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached"

    it's a hit or miss though, since some touchpad manufacturers enabled this feature to work and some doesn't (this works on older Lenovo touchpads, while it didn't for a dell laptop I used it on before)
