So I own a NP8170 from Xiotic and LOVE it. Had it for about a year and decided to upgrade to Samsung 830 SSD. Now I need to install the OS and drivers. Is there a reliable piece of software that will detect system components and update/install the correct drivers? When I first got my Sager it took me hours upon hours to research the correct drivers and I never want to go through that process again. I saw the driver thread, but then saw 60 pages of comments and said "hell no" to myself.

Has anybody tried Slimdriver, DriverMax, Driver Agent... or the dozen of other similar software packages related to this issue.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    here you go

and since you have a Sager, click here

Sager might have slightly older drivers.. just find the newer ones on the manufactures website ;) don't use all of those weird driver-helping installing programs

heres the drivers from sager > Software Upgrade

download the user manual at the bottom and it tells you which order you should load the drivers.

edit: beaten to it by jaug :)

Thanks for the super quick reply but those are a year old. I had some problems with the initial drivers. For example I remember that the default USB 3 driver was crashing when I plugged in my gaming keyboard and updated that one, but I forgot where I got that driver from. Over the past year I've updated drivers as problems crept up, but I don't know where i got them all. I dont want to do all the research again. I was hoping to find a nearly all-in-one solution, even if I need to pay for it.

what spec have you got as someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
really the only main ones that need updating regularly are the graphics drivers (nvidia in sig below). most of the others can use the same that came on the cd you should of got with the lappy or the ones above.

Ok well I guess I was hoping for magic software to do all the heavy lifting for me. I will make my way through the thread, just wish it wasn't so darned long. Me = Lazy.

BTW Got a Nvidia 485M, and your link saved me a search. Thanks for that too :)

I use station-drivers as a source for almost all common up to date drivers, means you don't need to search as much as long as you know what the hardware is.
