not that easy, the way the EM laptops are wired is different from alienware for example. the EMs put all their video signals through the integrated gpu, so if u remove that (=switch off enduro) the dedicated gpu doesnt have any way to each the display anymore. alienwares have two different pathways, thats why u can manually switch off enduro (and thus the integrated gpu) and exclusively use the dGPU.

So arcticjoe, you have stated that performance is better in BF3. That is exactly what we have been saying too, so where is the disagreement? We never said 12.11 completely fixed Enduro, we said it did a lot and shows progress towards that goal. That is a good thing. Progress happens over time, and it would have been damn near impossible for 12.11 to completely fix every issue.

. Some people were just ganking up on arcticjoe for stating that he wants to sell his laptop that he hasn't been happy with (a personal opinion) and for saying that the 7970M doesn't perform as good with Enduro as it does without (which is true). Somehow this was then seen as raging and bashing the 7970M.

But it isn't blasphemy. I think it is just your slight bias towards looking for the negative aspects that has set some people off, but what you have been finding is definitely true. We just like to look on the bright side, and I guess you don't as much. Why people started going against you is the thing that doesn't make sense. And yes, if you go with a laptop that can disable dynamic switching, the HD 7970m is the way to go. Even if the 7970m were the same price as the 680m, I'd still buy the 7970m in an Alienware, especially after seeing AMD making some great magic happen with GCN even months after release.

And to articjoe, I never claimed in any of my posts that the enduro problems have been completely sorted out. I said that they're much more rare now, and general performance has improved. My point was that if you're still not satisfied with the card, you should have sold it a long time ago instead of wasting time worrying about it. When I said that I've played 30 games without underutilization, it was to prove that the problem is less frequent than it was before, not that is doesn't exist. Not really sure where you saw me "raging," but that's cool lol. -
Accusations of raging: arcticjoe accusing failwheeldrive on page 4, hulawafu77 accusing arcticjoe on page 4,
Misunderstandings: failwheeldrive using the word "ragging" and not "raging" towards arcticjoe on page 2, with arcticjoe responding with "yep, that post of mine had serious rage written all over it." on page 3.
No one has raged a single time throughout this whole thread, by the way. Stop taking observations like threats.
Also remember that person A may have a collection of unaffected games while person B may have a collection of severely affected games. -

Thanks for pointing that out. Didn't realize the whole "raging" thing stemmed from me saying "ragging" lol. I love how we all argue when we pretty much all agree on the facts. Sorry for all the flaming, ily guys

hahaha..
why don u guys just get 7970M or crossfire 7970M in NP 9370...
it does not support enduro..
no enduro = no driver issue= no gpu under utilization = no complaint= no argument= beastly card= beastly laptop with good price..
so, vote for NP 9370^^ -
No one has posted reviews on the 7970m in an HM or P370EM vs the 7970m in a P1*0EM. I wish some one with one would share some performance results.

It's not really about the money, but the difference is pretty big and for that money I could buy something funnier, like another 512 GB SSD as a second drive. The thing is that I don't mind AMD cards or anything, nor am I fanboy of either manufacturer, but if the 7970M in CF on the P370EM have drivers related problems, it'd feel better to go with 680M in SLi instead.
As for the microstuttering, do you know how bad/good it is with the 7970M CF? -

so u mean that, its not wise to get crossfire 7970M on crossfire?
can someone tell me how bad or good is the micro stuttering for crossfire 7970M for NP 9370?
thanks.. -

Nvidia includes more of an input delay to buffer any micro stutter.
Crossfire does not include this input delay but is more prone to stuttering.
Awesome review of AMD HD 7970M vs GTX 680 just released including dual GPUs!
