Is there any other contact number of PCMW aside from the one indicated in their website? It seems that their hotline is down for several days now and I really need to contact them.

Doesn't surprise me that their line is down for several days.. With every thread I've read about this company I fear you may not get your laptop back period. Their line being down is a bit shady to me. If at any point you feel like maybe they are avoiding you, they probably are. I would never buy anything from this company and encourage others not to as well. I really really hope you get your laptop back and don't end up like a few others I've read about here on NBR, good luck and keep us updated. -
Good Luck !

alright dude thanks. seriously, they have been very compensating for me but i must admit that they are very hard to contact.
-
I am in the middle of a legal dispute with them right now. If you have read my previous posts then you know what I'm talking about. Sent in for repairs almost 3 months ago, and have not heard from them for almost a month. They lied and told me they couldnt get the part I needed because clevo was all out of motherboards, which through another vendor I learned was completely false. I made a BBB complaint but they never responded to it. So now I have my Lawyer on the case. I wish you much luck.
-
Argh, maybe because you have a lawyer after them they went on the run.
But I'm also hoping that it's just their hotline giving trouble. We shall know by next week I'm sure. -
webmaster need to change the F.A.Q. on top of this forum and put PCMW = SCAM! or del pcmw from the reseller list.
-
That doesn't sound good, I hope everything works out for you.
-
while I think its important people be warned, thats taking it a little far maybe. To be fair, I was very/mostly happy with the XR5 until I needed it fixed. And while PC MicroWorks has never been very honest or forthcoming with me, they have made efforts to make up for delays in the past. However at this point they have gone far beyond delays and have essentially stolen my $4.5k laptop.
-
That is so strange. I remember when I was interested in purchasing a notebook from them, I had no problem contacting them whatsoever.
-
PCmicroworks used to be a reseller called Hybridgear which closed up shop and ran away with customers money and warranty terms.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=270105 -
and you still advertise "their" laptop in your sig? c'mon man!
-
Maybe we should put that thread back to sticky?
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
afaik, that thread was a misconception. Shyster told me about it.
@BMonk
What laptop did you send in to them? Did you use FedEx? Do you know the name of the consignee? -
I sent in my XR5.... I used UPS, they signed for it, but I don't know who. I'm sure if I contacted UPS I could get that info. However I don't see the point of that unless they plan on disputing they received it, which they won't since I made sure to get them to confirm via email that they received the machine. That was almost 3 months ago.
And yes I have read through all the threads about PC MicroWorks past troubles. Its why I think I'm screwed. -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Haven't you tried to call them ?
-
Kevin, you should read the thread and decide for yourself whether or not it's a "misconception," rather than taking someone else's word for it.
Here's the thread about my experience with PCMicroworks. Like the link above, read and decide for yourself:
Avoiding PCMicroworks in the Future
If you read through the the 2 threads about PCMicroworks you'll see thay they often avoid phone calls and emails from customers with problems for months on end, claiming problems with phone service and similar excuses, while customers wishing to make new purchases seem to have no problems getting through. -
I have had many conversations over the phone and via email since buying the XR5. It never changed the fact that they tell people what they want to hear, to shut them up. Even before they shipped it, back in December 08, I hounded them about the fact that they kept telling me they would ship it before Jan. 1st 09. They are never forthcoming about delays, you have to pull teeth to get any info, even if its just more BS. So no I have not called them for months. It never does any good even if they pick up, which is rare. They straight up LIED to me in the last email they sent, stating that Clevo had a motherboard shortage and thats why it was taking so long. Well a very reputable source/reseller here on the forums contacted Clevo after reading about my problem and found out that there was no, nor had there been any such shortage, and they had plenty of every motherboard anyone could need.
So add it up. I spent about $400 on the "3 year diamond blanket protection warranty" meaning all hardware failures are covered and should be priority, or so they claim. They tell me to send in the unit for the repair after I email them about the issue. As I had self diagnosed the problem to be the motherboard, they knew thats what it was coming in for. They told me in an email they will "get on it ASAP and should be able to get it back within 3-5 business days". Knowing this time frame was BS, I assumed it would take a least 2 weeks. UPS tried to deliver on a Friday, but no one was there. They received it the following Monday. I didn't hear anything from them by the end of the week. Not even a "hey we got your XR5 and we will keep you posted". I had to email them asking them to confirm they received it. Then, week after week I would check on the status, they would say, "oh end of the week we think" or "mid next week". That was 11 weeks ago. So I don't think calling them is going to make much difference at this point.
They have my $4,500 notebook and I have not heard from them since Feb. 25th. Thats sounds a lot like robbery to me..... So yes, at this point the only person thats going to call on my behalf is my Lawyer. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Sorry to hear it.I think it was shyster who had posted a warning about them.
-
Hmm... That's some serious pressure right there man. And I'm planning to send in my laptop in July to sort out some issues with the Esata and turbo memory. If they choose to ignore me and do what they did to you. They will be getting a lawsuit in their butts.
I find it interesting though, because usually they are very accommodating to me. Sad to see that this is actually happening with you. Have you tried to warn them that you feel you have been wronged and would like to call the authorities on the matter?
P.S. I'm going to give them a call today and see if I get through. -
A "misconception" in what sense?
-
I called them and got an automated message that they were closed from Thursday last week to Monday this week in celebration of the Easter Holiday (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, etc.). So I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what's up.
-
it's kind of hard to believe you
if ANY reseller had my $4,500 dollar laptop for 3 months and treated my like this i would spend $150 for the round trip flight and rental car to knock on their door and physically get my property back from them. it would be faster and cheaper than lawyers. and, if they do not have my property i will take another new one off their shelves and call it even. -
That's a great idea!
-
well think what you want, but I have made sure to document every step via emails with them so I have all the proof I need. Also I happen to be very very lucky to have a Lawyer for a father, so legal costs mean nothing to me. Otherwise I'd be screwed. I am not one of the people here that can afford another $4.5k computer. I drive a $1,000, 30 year old mercedes. Half the cost of this computer was a bonus from my boss last year. Its the most exspensive thing I've ever owned thus far. Buying such a machine made sense at that point because I was working as a photographer/web designer for a luxury realty firm in puerto vallarta, mexico, and also editing lots of HD video that I would capture from helicopter rides up and down the coast.
Read the rest of my posts before you decide to question my honesty please.
And going to get my computer may end up what I have to do, but if they are not going to fix it, I would probably need to pay around 600-700 to get a motherboard replaced, with labor. I could do it, but I'd rather get it done by someone who would warranty the part. So the point is not that they are not sending my machine back, its that they wont fix it, or honor the warranty I paid a lot for. -
Would it be possible for you to contact Eurocom directly for the warranty? Since PCMW purchase from them?
-
Something tells me probably not, but its worth a try I suppose. I was not aware that we had come to that conclusion... Are we sure about this?
-
Hmm, well eurocoms site seems to be... errr.... gone? lol, its a conspiracy!!
for real, there site is coming up as a broken link through google...... -
Try this one eurocom.com
If this one doesn't work it's you
Maybe your firewall or something..
-
yeah its working now. the site was down for a bit I guess...
-
Sorry to hear, but good luck with retrieving the notebook. Give it one more time after the public holidays.
If you still cant reach them then i suggest you start litigation asap because they will probably close up shop and run away.
I wish i could sticky these threads to forewarn other users but ill get flamed by fanboys. Even though its not libel if its the truth to protect the public.
I knew it was only a matter of time till history repeats itself. -
I am on it.
I will get in contact with them to forewarn them as well as any other vendor that misrepresents themselves... and dis-services their customers.
Today seems to be their day off (as said on their answering machine) -
Those of us in the LA area should storm their offices and riot
-
With influence, we can make or break a company here on NBR.
No need to storm anywhere. -
you are just making excuses for yourself. "oh poor me poor me. daddy can help me he is a lawyer!"
c'mon man, go get your property! you obviously do not care about it that much otherwise you would have gotten it back by now. either contact them this week and demand for it to be returned in it's un-repaired state or purchase that cheap plane ticket if they ignore you. these guys are probably gonna close up shop from the information i have been reading and you will be left with only memories.
you can have sager repair it for $500 that also includes a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. -
In Bmonk case, it is a justification to go up there and sort it out. Right now this laptop is my workstation that brings in the cash. If that was taken away for that length of time even after I tell the company I use the system for my work I'd be finding my self in front their offices to deal with it. Sometimes, its the only option left to you, especially in a case where valuable property is concerned, especially REVENUE making property.
However, in general, I doubt they are running off, its been a long weekend and their phone system hasn't been functioning last week. Before that, whenever I needed, I have gotten through to these guys and I do intent to send my laptop in for a check up in July when I estimate I can purchase a desktop to do the majority of my workload and use this laptop primarily for entertainment and presentations.
I have no fear of this company, especially with a Diamond warranty like that. Dude, go after them, 11 weeks is unacceptable, they should have told you that from the beginning. -
ok now, there is no need to insult me. I am not going to bicker with you about this. I have done everything short of driving there. You certainly have a point, but the fact is I can not afford to have the repairs made at the moment. If I could, I would go get it, and take care of it, though I would still pursue them legally as they are breaking the law by not honoring the warranty. The BBB complaint I made against them received no response, which they were notified of twice over the past month. I feel taking legal action is/may be the only way to resolve the issue. Thank you for your input, even though I feel you're getting a little personal with the insults.
-
I am now in contact with a Eurocom rep and he seems to be taking interest. I'll let you all know how that plays out.
-
keep the thread on track guys.
no insults or personal attacks please. -
Those people need a smack at their heads. As said million times, Shyter's thread wasn't intended to degrade but to better inform the potential buyers about PCMW.
-
Believe him. He is not the only customer who has had a nightmarish experience with PCMicroworks. His experience mirrors mine in many important ways, such as the lack of responses to emails and phone calls, and lots of 'we are closed for the next 7 days due to national bubble gum recognition week' messages on the support phone lines.
And you'd be knocking on a door of a locked-up and empty office. Others have tried that tactic without success. The young man who appears to be the sole owner/operator/salesstaff/supportteam/phonesupport is often not at the office during office hours or refuses to come to the door, according to accounts in the Hybridgear --> PCMicroworks thread.
Please read that thread in its entirety and educate yourself about this reseller before you start asserting that BMonk's claims are unfounded. -
i have read a large portion of that thread a while back. this pcmw guy knows to hide behind the corporation tag so going after him personally won't get you no where. even seeking court orders against his corp probably won't do anything as from what i have read i trully believe this guy will close up shop and leave his creditors and "customers" hanging at the first sign of real trouble.
sometimes in life you have to solve things the old fashion way. having said that i am sure bmonk will get his laptop back un-repaired and it is probably the best case scenario for him, unfortunately. -
Tried today, hotline is open but no answer. (could be the phone problems from last week because the same thing happened last week).
Will try again later tonight when I come back from work. -
best way for you guys is to go there and find their office if they even have one now and if you can to take your systems or your money because you have to understand that they will not answer to your mails or your calls or make some legal action because they will not give back your money
BEWARE of PC Microworks .... Do NOT send in your systems for repair
