Got my fingers crossed for you!

ouch--that would be even worse.
I've got a Novena going for everyone who ever bought a laptop from this company -
Here you go folks ... they e-mailed me again (shocking I get more e-mails from them now, and not one when I needed service) saying that they missed the package and to reship it to them, and they sent me a shipping label. And for all those who were wondering where they are, well here's the address it's going to. Hopefully it'll help others who are having trouble finding them:
Shipping Department
PC MicroWorks Corp
5581 Auto Mall Pky
Fremont, CA 94538 -
I decided to google map that address and it's a FedEx kinkos. That's pretty funny.
-
According to Google, that's a FedEX/Kinkos office...but that could be an error...looks like there is a vacant storefront next to it in google street view
EDIT--looks like I am not the only guy who is "skeptical"
. -
-
I got my laptop back today. They fixed the issue with it and everything is working great.

They kept pretty good communication after that 2 week lull when I first got the message on their phone number stating their phone support would be down.
I have been checking the laptop out thoroughly and everything seems to be in perfect order. They also gave me an extra battery.
Anyone else still waiting on a laptop?
EDIT: The only thing I am missing is a dirvers disc. Where can I get the proper drivers? I can get the GPU, sound, etc. but the bluetooth, camera, etc. will be a little difficult. -

they didn't even give me anything to compensate for the delay!
And they didn't even fix my fingerprint reader, dammit!
This is just INSANE! They won't even reply to me! -

kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
dammit! they are a worthless company!
-
-
just to make sure you covered your bases--you installed both the software and drive for the fingerprint reader?

What's up with this thread? Any reports of PCMW right now?
-
I was wondering if they ever keep there customers up to date on system drivers, bios etc? thanks
-
I think they are out of business -

no I wont but I'm stuck with over 1.5 years warranty left and no driver support, oh and they still own me a Azerty keyboard...
-

I got two years left but I think I got my money worth of warranty in free stuff. I could care less though as I'm ready to sell my m860tu for something with more battery life.
-
No way you can be sour on PCM -
Time to move on to another company that breaks promises and does not care about the majority of its customer base.....I'm considering a Dell Studio 1555 -

PCMW, they never got me satisfied! I don't know if they will still resume their operations or what, since their site is still up and the site administrator told me that they are just having problems, damn!
-

Wow. You must be really unsatisfied if you needed to rage twice, haha.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Lol, sorry about that, I thought the first message was not submitted. But anyway, you could say that I am really frustrated with this es. Someone should take action to put Matt O' Byrne behind bars! Really. If I was just living in California, I'd do that.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
That's okay. It's worth every post after what PCMW has done to it's customers. O'Byrne is forever in exile after he saw this thread.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah, I hope he dies! Curse him!
-
kevin, I understand you are angry and venting but theres no need to bypass the filter.
The company looks like its gone under. -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Well, I'm still hoping that they come back up after some months, like what happened with HybridGear.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Why? 10char
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Because I want them to fix the fingerprint reader and give me some freebies to compensate what they did to me.
-
You will have to get in line behind all the HybridGear customers who got screwed and thought they were going to get something out of PCMicroworks.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
They got some at least at the time when PCMW was in operation, they were very accomodating at first.

I agree. The Hybridgear guys are first in line to deal with PCMW. But after what you PCMW guys have gone through, I'd say you guys get first dibs. I just can't see how a vendor that sells one of the most respected ODM's notebooks can live with the guilt and the greed.

thanks Vedya, I will. -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
He doesn't, because I tried emailing him with a new email address pretending that I'm a new customer, no replies.
-
wow. read this whole thread..what a wild ride rofl!
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
I stopped reading seriously after page three. I already got the feeling that this was going to be an angry pitch fork mob thread on a manhunt for PCMW.
-
Man, I can't believe this thread is up to 55 pages! I am one who was scammed on my comp. Very expensive laptop that lasted what 2 years? Mine just quit working period...motherboard gone. I decided just to suck it up and not stress over it. But I think Matt knows exactly what he's doing. He preys on people for a while and comes back as someone else and starts all over again. Of course we know that everyone that works for his so called business is really him. This could be a case of someone who is seriously mentally ill with personality disorder of some kind. I mean I know I have talked to him and he puts me on hold to send me to him! The problem is I never know which him it actually is.....I haven't bought another comp yet, using my husbands now until I burn that one up. Then I think I will just get a desktop and maybe a netbook so I have something to take with me. I haven't read all the pages, I think I stopped at 32 or somewhere in that area. Take care Kevin and good luck to all. Jackie
BEWARE of PC Microworks .... Do NOT send in your systems for repair
