How about some BGA wireless card? Seems like Samsung is following the Apple Trashbook Pro route.
Why not make the SSD BGA too, like apple?
Oh and here's a bonus of the cancer cooling system.

I expect this Cancer will be the next must have in the thin gaming BGA models like Razer, Alienware and Aorus. Next gen of mentioned models will probably follow the thinness trend further!! Be prepared to see the soldered hardware take more and more place on MB. Apple needs to innovate more, if not will they be sinking backwards. Desktops will be more and more the only options as I see it. This sick soldered hardware trend will soon escalate and no returns!!

Slim profile, usually non-gaming BGA is what sells. Can't fault businesses for appealing to the masses. *shrug*

This is 1-year warranty taking effect. Make a law that demands a 5-year minimum and see how fast they'll make everything socketed again.
More lenient and even better; an extra, graded vat based on the device's repairability score. Few tools, time and modular components? -> +0%. Apple-style? -> +50%. Every penny saved by going bga would boomerang back a hundredfold in the sales price.Rei Fukai, alexhawker, Ashtrix and 3 others like this. -

What's wrong with the cooling? Seems fine for a 1050 Ti

Would be interested to see how to get that done, but it would keep makers on their game so I like it. -

Easy - law. Local law forces companies to offer a minimum of 2 years on ANY electronic device and also has strict regulation on customer service - it doesn't take a lot for an investigation to be launched and fines to be given out. Hell, I've seen cases where a single salty person issued a complaint and the business nearly got fined for 30 000 BGN (about 15 000 USD) based on a false claim. Yeah.
Maybe that's why Razer don't sell laptops here ._.Rei Fukai, saturnotaku, iunlock and 1 other person like this. -

Ludicrous... garbage, LOL.
But, but, but... people don't need to upgrade WiFi!!!
Really? Nobody ever told me that. I've done it a number of times. I've had WiFi cards that were junk, too. Shouldn't have to break out soldering tools for this. Extremely stupid, same as soldering in the SSD would be. But, looks like wherever you get is what you got for good on this hunk of junk.
Sign of the times... expect more demonstrations of retardedness as disposable tech feces continues to circle the drain enroute to the sewer. We will have whatever the lowest common denominators are willing to tolerate.
Welcome to the poop-o-rama.
Yup, I bet that would get them to pull their heads out. Nothing like a legal obligation to create accountability.Last edited: Mar 14, 2017 -

There is no point in that design to have it soldered I agree.

I wonder if bro @Phoenix would love this <better> solution to connect the wifi card. I really hope they go for Intel. Killer would be a pain if you hate this brand
Expect soldered wifi cards in all models who already contain soldered Cpu - Gpu
I smell it will come!!

Expect soldered Wifi in every single JokeBook. What brand the wifi come from, doesn't matter!! Take it or leave it. You get what you want when yooo all support aka purchase laptops with everything soldered!! Don't hang the messenger!!
Yet another options to loose in the silicon lottery. If you got a i7 BGA who can overclock better than the rest of the trash... Maybe buying - use a usb wifi if the soldered one breaks?

By looking at the fans I don't think there is any economy of space by soldering that Wifi card. I mean, I can understand how soldering the Wifi you could save some space, but really ? RAM is soldered in many new models , sometimes they solder only one slot. Soon they will solder the M.2 card as well and it's over.

Maybe soldered Wifi will be the next big for Alienware Desktops with <soldered i7> ? I would call a desktop Who can't be upgraded.., BGA as well!! Awesome job DELL

It's a shame when Hansung built my Km1 they don't have any 8260/8265 laying around
Apple™ innovation
And yeah, there's more than enough space to use a normal wifi card like any other laptop

a Z170 desktop motherboard that can't upgrade from 6700k to 7700k deserves the name Alien-ware
how's that for a punch in the nuts to their customer base on a product marketed as: Boundaries Not IncludedLast edited: Mar 14, 2017 -

Take it to the next level. Solder on the heat sink with Dell stamp lol... But I'd request Crest tooth paste.
Most gamers in S.K. are plugged in directly via ethernet, although they do have the fastest Internet in the World. I can't think of one person that I know who isn't plugged in directly over there when gaming. As you know it's serious business with it being the gaming capital. WiFi cards are more of an accessory...like we view dbrand skins here...
Terrible indeed...
You know what's funnier? If that's Samsungs first entry level gaming laptop, look at the heat plates...they are better than Dells lol...
That's along the lines of a 6700hq in a $800 vs $4000 laptop. *face palm.*

Actually rofl... To be fair if that tattooed WiFi card ever gives out or can't be OC'ed (that's a joke) then you could glue on an Intel 8260 in top of it lol... There is plenty of room...
Everything else is glued on so I don't think the laptop would get offended.
LOL
::iunlock:: -
If that's soldered on, I would want it to be a Killer 1535. All three of them I have owned work phenomenally well and the one Intel 8260 that I had was very disappointing. I was excited to get it and it wasn't as good as the 1535. It was slower and less reliable for me. I regretted not getting the 1535 instead for the same price.

As expected... Not everyone agrees on what is the best. Some of you will be disappointed when the Wifi BGA comes, LOL
Someone who said... Freedom of choice with BGA?
Perhaps the choice of your prefered Wifi brand, will determines your choice of JokeBook?
Maybe more important than the thinness. Because the soldered i7 and graphics is all the same

LOL, that's the perfect way to look at this, too. No freedom... no choices on what matters most.

That's interesting. The issue isn't really with the Killer card itself (well kind of), it's more so the bloated software suite that most people install instead of the individual driver itself.
Also, the Killer cards do have weaker solder points from the many that I have handled. From my experience I sit on the opposite side of the user experience in that the Intel cards have always done well for me.
When I travel to certain cities, I stay at the same hotel and occasionally the same room if available. This is where I had really put the cards to the test because I knew where the hotel router was located. The Killer cards had a lot less bars than the Intel 8260 and would often drop connection.
At the end of the day...whatever works eh....but that's just my experience and why I choose Intel cards over Killer from my own experience. This doesn't mean that one is better than the other, it just depends on what floats the boat. -

I find that there are situations where Killer's software shines (where there is little control over the network and it prioritizes bandwidth on the computer side) and where Intel seems better (Home routers with QoS already configured). There are exceptions of course, but this is the difference I've noticed using and supporting both. -
saturnotaku Notebook Nobel Laureate
The latest Killer software packages (one released in February, and another updated this month) have solved the problem of random disconnects, and video streaming works much better, at least on my machine. The 1535 also has a much better Bluetooth implementation, at least as it relates to using my Xbox One wireless controller. With an Intel 8260, using the controller over Bluetooth would cause wild performance fluctuations, making games a stuttering mess. This is not the case with the Killer. If you don't care about Bluetooth, Intel is still the better choice, but taking it all into consideration, I have to give the nod to the 1535.

BT is a good point, I've always had better luck with it on Killer cards.
Also, for connection stability, there's nothing in the world that will beat those tiny onboard wifi transmitters in phones. The only devices I've had that have had 100% uptime on wifi are phones and tablets.
