I want to maximize the cooling ability of my np8662, and I know that these
Thermaltake BGA COOLERS work well in the np5797 (per Soviet Sunrise). However, has anyone ever put them into the np8662, and if so, do they fit, and what sort of temperature drops can I expect (even 2c would be nice). Also, which way should I put them in to maximize cooling power, and where?
(Pics would help)

I ordered ones like these http://s.lowyat.net/uploads//attach-91/post-17891-1238937707_thumb.jpg and they definitely fit in my NP8662 with no problems, they are made from copper but I haven't put them in yet. I will put some over the GPU and on each side of the CPU heatsink.
I got two packs from Ebay here http://tinyurl.com/ne4ffs
I am not 100% sure if the ones you linked to will fit because they look slightly higher than the ones I got but I notice the dimensions listed are 14(L) x 14(W) x8 (H) mm.
The dimensions of the ones I got that fit are Dimension : 18(L) x 12(W) x 4(H) mm
I have to go now so don't have time to check but will be back later.
EDIT: The BGA 2 ones will not fit since they are twice the height of the ones I linked to. Two of those on top of each other does not leave enough room for the case to close. Something 4-6 in height mm should fit ok. -
bad idea, i tried it with pretty much those exact same ones. They will be pressed right up against the back panel and potentially melt a hole right through (not to mention the touching spots are absolutely scorching).

Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
Not true. The thermoplastics in our Clevo's have a melting point much higher than the heat output of our CPU's and GPU's. When I was experimenting with finding an ideal setup for my copper blocks, I had some of them touching the ceiling of my backpanel. I would force my GPU to 88*C for long periods of time with the copper blocks touching and there isn't a single sign of melting, or even discoloration from burning on the backpanel. Yes, the bottom of the laptop will get hot, but I can guarantee you it's not going to melt.

Yup. Its also good to use an active notebook cooler, since there isn't much airflow inside the system.
