is it feasible to reinstall the same version BIOS to attempt to resolve ongoing issues with a laptop which have been unidentifiable to this point?

my lappie came with the latest release already on it, 1.01.06 iirc. Given that there is no later version, is it fair play to simply reapply the 1.01.06 again to see if i can remedy the issues?
