I have had this system for a couple of weeks now and there have been two instances when the system just locked up and I could hear a constant beeping/clicking noise. The HDD activity lights were also constantly on when I heard the clicking and had to Power off/On to get it back to normal. I ran a disk checkup tool and got these values:

So is my HDD failing? Do I need to get a repalcement?

The clicking noise is a bad sign on its own. If you're sure that the noise is coming from the hard drive, I'd run chkdsk in Windows (which will scan on reboot). SMART is good, but it tends to be unreliable at times. Chkdsk will let you know if you have any bad sectors, though it can't do anything about a head crash (which is what clicking can be a symptom of).

Either way, since you bought from us- contact us if you want to set up an RMA on it just to be sure.

I'd backup any data you want to keep ASAP. When my drives start clicking I back them up ASAP. You can then opt to keep using them as sometimes they'll last months but sometimes it is only a day or 2.

    Ultimately I'd get it replaced.

Thanks for the quick replies. I am currently taking a backup of all my data and running a complete chkdsk. I'll contact Malibal to setup an RMA once the backup and chkdsk are done.

    Yeah your drive is dying.
The rightmost TEC column has some dire predictions for a relatively new drive.
It looks like the drive somehow reached 49c, the high temp reduced the expected life dramatically.
