    Hey all, new guy here,

I am passing along some information that you may want to heed before purchasing an Aviator CX7 from Hypersonic.

I was told that my laptop would not be ready on the 24th of November because they received a bad batch of 7950 video cards from Nvidia and it would not be ready until the 1st of December. Waiting until the 5th to call I was told that there were many CX7s on hold and that they (Hypersonic) were waiting for Clevo to send then a "new" BIOS update. When asked what exactly the problem was, I was told "The systems were not performing to the high level they expected." and "If the new BIOS comes in tomorrow and we don’t need to flash the video card it should go out on the 8th or 11th."

I think this is all BS. There are at least a dozen other vendors that use this exact same bare bones system and I have heard of none of these having this same issue. I would kill this order now but it is prime holiday shopping, most of these places would take another month before i could get it, and they want 3.5% of my order to terminate it. Does this sound reasonable? Am I wrong for being upset? Does this sound like BS to anyone else?

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

That is a strange problem, but their explanations seem to be "time buyers" until they get the system out to you.

I think it should turn out fine.

Tell us how it goes... and maybe give us a review of your notebook when you do receive it. :)

Yea...3.5% to say 'no thanks?' Tell 'em they didn't honor the promised deadlines and you feel like your leg is being pulled. If they don't listen then, call the CC company and cancel the charge. If don't want it that is...

If you do want it...a review on Hypersonic would be nice!

UPDATE: It finally showed up this morning. The excitement was rushing, I almost couldn’t stand it. This was my first cutting edge portable; I built all of my other PCs myself. I get it out of the box and at first notice it’s heft. This is a bruiser; I can’t image what a 19” would have been like. Anyway I set it down and turn the power on. It starts to hum to life, , I see the Intel logo and it starts to boot. Next thing I know, “Invalid system disk” , WTH?!? Turn is off and back on, check the optical drive and nothing. I start looking through the discs I received and none of them were the OS. A quick check on the bottom confirmed what I thought was wrong. THEY SHIPPED THE **** THING WITH NO OS!!! After five weeks these monkeys did not install an OS. Checked the invoice and yes, ordered 1 -- delivered 1. I call and ask just WTF? Their response to me was send it back and we will install an OS and return it to you. NO WAY IN HELL an I sending this back. The customer service rep said they would throw in a free recovery DVD I said no thanks refund my money for the OS and I will take care of it myself. They tell me that my case is on the way, for some reason this did not go out with the PC.

Now I must say that EVERY time I spoke with someone at hypersonic they were courteous and pleasant on the phone. Even when I got a little heated they remained calm and cool.

I want so bad to like and recommend this company but so far this just sucks.

So I need to know if I can install WMC2K5 on this system or not. Hypersonic seems to think not, however I think I have seen other OEMs do it. I decided to get an OEM version here at the local computer shop. Thanks for allowing me to blow off some steam I will update with pics and stuff I a different thread.
