On my Clevo D900k I've come to notice that no matter how I try, I cannot seem to get the time remaining on my battery to display. Is this an issue with a defective battery (it holds a charge for 100 min, which seems pretty good for the D900k), or is it just the battery does not have the time estimate capability?

Well, you are supposed to go into Power Options
- under Advanced tab
- select Always Show Icon on Taskbar
- hit OK.
- Done.
I technically dont like the basic Windows XP power icon, I use:
- Notebook Hardware Control
-- it monitors batterylife, CPU temps, HDD temps, voltage, etc.
And for the important GPU temps, i use:
- RivaTuner to monitor the temps (even during in-game)
- And always use the Fn+F2 to toggle the fans to max while gaming.

Thanks, those helped a lot and answered a few of my other questions as well. But, I may not have expressed my self clearly the first time, so I'll try to explain in more detail. I followed the tutorials and installed Notebook Hardware Control as well as RivaTuner. Both are fully configured in accordance with the tutorials. I have the Icon installed on my system tray and here is the screen shot of both the info bubble as well as the battery information tab of Notebook Hardware Control. As you can see the Battery Life Time shows as unavailable, does your laptop have a Battery Life Time readout?
and
Also does the Battery Charge Rate on the desktop overlay function of your D900k work? As you can see mine shows no change in wattage + or -.

NHC has its limitations, definitely. Last time I checked, it told me that my 5 month old battery was still 100% (meaning 0% wear). It's a generic program that tries its best to communicate with everyone's system, but there are too many variables to program for.
Read more about it in the battery guide--there's a section about that. -
NHC 1.10 b3
I am currentyly using it now, now probs at all. -
Installed NHC 1.10 b3 and its working great, battery time estimate works perfectly. However still no response from the battery charge rate graph overlay on the desktop. Do you get any response from the charge rate graph on your D900k? As of now I'm assuming that this feature is not supported.
Thanks again for all the help. -
I dont know anyone who got the charge rate working properly on NHC. I think it may be a wide spread bug. Unless I have a lot of unlucky friends.
