After reading enough posts to make my head spin I'm guessing a Sager 5760 can't have a secondary battery put in (replacing the DVD drive) if the laptop is using a 7950 GTX video card.

Quite honestly... that sucks... But is there any other way to give this beast more power on-the-go? An external battery pack perhaps?

Most questions similar to mine were posted give or take a year ago... and the answers were questionable at best. I was hoping for a fresh take on all this. :)

Oh, and what's the consensus today on Vista vs. Win XP in regards to power consumption?

Hmm... No one can relate to this?

I'll try giving this one bump... I'm not looking for a forced answer though ;) Leave a comment if you know something about the topic.

if you do want more batterylife with gaming, you can downgrade to a 15.4" notebook.

    or get a spare battery.

the 17" gaming notebooks on the market do not get past 2 hours on battery... so thats pretty much it.
