Check in the Offical Sager NP 8690 Owner's Lounge, it's been posted several times. There are also several online reviews that discuss the battery life, which is, to put it mildly: terrible.

I tested it out recently, it powered down in less than an hour. Forget about using this laptop without the plug.

Think of the battery life on these laptops as more of a back up in case of a power outage so that you can save your work if necessary.

What about with a dual core proc and downclocked gpu? Does that go above 90 minutes?

Anyone know if there's any kind of noticeable difference in battery life between the NP8690 with an i7-620M (or i5-540M) and one with a quad core processor?

i was thinking, maybe they can make a dock-like battery for the sager? make it like 12-cell, with at least 6000 mAhs,

it can be a 1 inch thick dock that can fit in the same way as the original 3800 mAh battery.

the problem with the 8690's battery is its only a 3-cell.
i dont think downclocking or switching to an arrandale would help much.

I wonder why buying a second battery never occurred to anyone in this thread.

    Or, like i said above:

if you're willing to have a thicker laptop, i say they should make a battery that acts like a docking station, and attaches itself the same way the default tiny battery does.

i'm for it if i can get more battery life.

So that's what you meant. I thought you had in mind one of those desktop bound docks with all the ports and whistles. What the hell is wrong with me today.

yea, is there anything similar to that idea of a "battery dock" out there?
