Didn't see a post on BF3 Frame rates per machine, lets see where abouts folks are with their rigs. I for one am thinking of upgrading.

    Game Resolution: 1920x1080

    Effects: Ultra
    Rest: High

    Antialiasing Deferred: Off
    Antialiasing Post: Low
    AF: X2
    Motion Blur: Off
    AO: SSAO
    Vsync: Off

Never under 40fps in SP (Usually between 45-60).

    MP: 35-50fps outdoors / 45-70 fps Indoors

Only time fps drops below 30 is when I'm in a tank and people are shooting rocktets at me or if a another tank misses right in front of me. I'm thinking of reducing everything back to High since I'm pretty sure I'd benefit more from the extra frames rather than the very subtle graphical improvement.

What I'm curious here is which settings uses up most resources? I'm pretty sure the different AA/AF's are not needed at this resolution (from what I've heard) but I could be mistaken.

    FOV: Default

The Specs are on my sign.

    Playing on Native 1920x1080
Textures on ULTRA (this load the FHD Textures and make the game look amazing!)
    Everything else on High.
AA off (since I'm playing on native ress, this is not very useful).
Ambient occlusion HABO On (this one also helps a lot on DX 11, I wonder if the game is running on DX11...)
AF: 2x (I dun see much difference with this over 2x)

    I get Avg 50~60 FPS, lowest 35 highest 90.

If I apply a 15% overclock on my GTX 580M I get 60+ avg and 109 Top so I can get the best of the 120hz pannel with minimum temperature increase (76C top with OC and fn+1 active)

Just tried it with all settings on ultra, 1080p, no AA, and Vsync ON (i hate screen tearing!) with my gtx 485m overclocked to 660/1320/1600.

Got anywhere between 35-48 fps, temps stayed between 77-84 degrees. Very very nice! :D

    It depends on the map.
Ultra settings no AA I get 40-60 fps on small maps like Metro.
On Caspian Border it's around 25-40 same settings.

What kind of FPS can I expect on ultra/high settings for this setup on a P151HM1 Lotus from MALIBAL?

    Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM, 6MB L3 Cache, 2.2-3.1GHz
    Memory: (8GB) 8192MB, PC3-10660/1333MHz DDR3 - 2 SO-DIMM
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560M 1.5GB GDDR5

It just shipped today, so I should get it on Monday, or sometime next week.

1600x900, High Textures, Low Shadows, everything else medium, no AA/AF/HBAO/etc.

Smooth 40-60 fps (guess; I know it's usually in the 50s) in multiplayer and it looks fantastic.

I made a video with these settings:

    Resolution Native: 1920 x 1080 at 120hz
    Textures on: ULTRA
Shadows and everything else on: HIGH
AA: OFF (not needed since we are playing on Native resolution)
Anisotropic filter: 4X (anything over 4 won't do any good).
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO (this also helps a lot to display the game true graphics).

As usual FRAPS steals like 30% of the frames on 1920x1080 but Its still over 45 frames while recording (over 60 when not recording) as it can appreciated:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/q-Ivy-wQGHc?version=3&amp;hl=es_MX&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='853' height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I believe this is a very balanced config. on the GTX 580M to fully enjoy the 120hz screen and an average game experience.

I must say I'm pretty disappointed of this game since I normally use my 360 controller and Battlefield 3 don't fully support it. not rumble function, nor the "in game button display"... a real shame, but Oh well its alright for 4 hours play on the campaigning, I will be waiting for Call of Duty MW3 ;)

There is still noticeable aliasing at the native resolution, adding 2xAA wasn't a big hit in performance on the 6990

Yea i'm mad about the 360 controller support, check out my support topic on the BF3 site. Hit the follow button on it and comment, so the devs take notice (the more follows it gets the more likely they will patch it)

I get between 50-60 (due to vsync) with these settings. Even on Casp Border. Smaller maps and indoors is a solid 60.

I have found that this is by far the best combination I have found for my setup and preference. You get most of the eye candy with great frames. In fact, I was finding that with everything on ULTRA, it was much much harder to spot enemies!

I know its noticeable ^^ but if you pay attention some of the borders look even cleaner with the AA-Off on Native resolution, anyways; enabling or disabling it will only take about 2-3 fps for each 2X so its a personal decision ;) I like to play with over 60fps so I keep it off.

    I play with these settings @1080p 120Hz (FOV - 75):
    Everything on ULTRA except
Motion Blur off (gives me eye strain)
    FXAA High (AA post)
    MSAA off.
I am around 30-35 FPS most of the time and drop to 21 if a tank blows up in my face.

I dont know if you guys have seen this talk by Johan Anderson of DICE at the Nvidia Geforce Lan Party for BF3 promo.
GeForce LAN 6 - Johan Andersson Battlefield 3 Presentation Part 1 / 5 - YouTube Really worth watching; all about BF3 PC graphics.
He explains why they decided to have both MSAA and FXAA options simultaneously for the game.

    I just have a general Q.

    Running a Sager 8130 with:
    nVidia GeForce GTX 460M 1,536MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11
    i7-2630QM, 2.0-2.8GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache)
    8,192MB DDR3 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)

Have to run my settings on low to get 30 fps under the most taxing situations.

The big issue I have is that in most cases, there is this constant "snow" of visual artifacts raining down from upper left to lower right. Kind of like 2-3 inch darker color blobs. Seems to be worse on some maps like Seine.

Anybody else see this? I can only imagine what it's doing to my performance/framerates . . .

Yep, that looks alright...I'll have to look into what causes that. In the meantime, even though you're on low settings, I'd suggest turning things on and off within the settings to see if it is a certain item causing those artifacts. Any other 460M users experiencing similar issues?

    edit; removed quote, not needed

Everything on high (initially had textures on Ultra). Getting frame rates of 40-55... rarely drops to the 30's during high action.

    Very pleased :)

Ok, didn´t see any X7200 user, so here we go:

All settings are on the highest level!

    System:X7200
Video Card: SLI GTX 485m OC to 580m stock clocks
    CPU: Intel Core i7-970
    Memory: 12GB
    OS:win 7 64bit
    Driver: 285.62
    Settings 1920x1080
    All settings on ULTRA
    HABO: on
    Anisotropic: 4x MSAA
    PAA: HIGH
    MOTION BLUR: ON
    Antisotrop filter: 16x

    Low frame rate 41
High 62 (because of vsync on of course)
    Average 52-57

It runs very smooth, but I can´t say that I am THAT impressed. Before BF3 came out, people talked about it as it would be a milestone regarding graphics... but I don´t think so. It is not bad, but not THAT good.

Hi mate, something doesnt add up.
Those average fps you get is what i get with my G53sw at 1080p, with a lower cpu and gpu.
Are you sure your system is running ok? All drivers updated etc etc? I would expect at least 40fps on a gtx485m since its an underclocked gtx580m.
Also other users with a 580m are reporting much higher framerates with same settings as you.
    Isnt it strange?

Perhaps my reported frame rates are conservative because I merely noted them down randomly while playing the game. I now went back and ran the Fraps benchmarks. Results are as follows:

Multiplayer maps Caspian Border & Kharg Island
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg

(Kindly ignore the max framerates for the last two SP records. They are very high because I started the Fraps benchmark during the loading screens, without thinking)

I am using the 285.62 driver set. And I'm on stock clocks only. I also only run the game with Fn+1 fans on.

Well now thats what i was talking about.
It was strange to me to see BF3 running at 30fps with dips to 20 as you said, pretty impossible.
Even your lowest framerate is farily higher than what you initially posted.
Which is awesome, great machine btw, many thanks for your kind benchmark!

You are welcome :D But scenes with lots of smoke just makes it drop to 16 or 17, as you can see from the results. However, while playing, I never notice it too much.

Happy battlefield-ing. ***insert BF3 buzzer noise***

For those with 460M's looking for any additional performance I can post my modded vbios if anyone is interested, it's based on the newer V 70.06.3B.00.08 (7/17/11) firmware and matches the 560M's stock clocks, the temperature difference is negligible.

I've been using a 560M clock matching mod of the factory 460M bios for a while but have since moved to the newer firmware revision.

    Those interested let me know.
