So whenever my laptop gets pretty low on batteries ~ it makes BEEPS.
I know its a good warning and all, but is there any other way to alert me the battery is nearly depleted?

Also, what happens if you don't turn the system off and just let it run out of batteries (or would it eventually turn itself off)

    Thanks!

Well, I think there is an alarm of the laptop from the bios for low battery which I'm not sure if you can change or turn off.
Then the operating system has a low battery alarm and a critical battery alarm which you can set in the sound options (if you want to change the beep or turn it off) and I think in power options you can decide what happens in such cases. For example you can have the computer hybernate or sleep or whatever when the battery is low, I'm not sure how Windows calls them but there should be something like suspend to disk or to ram etc.

Turn it off in BIOS. A low battery icon appears in the bottom right tray when you're low.
