looks good to me... whats the price?
-
around the range im looking for around 3.5k ish i dunno might knock off the blu ray and go buy a ps3 haha.
-

I would agree. Unless money is no object I would think real hard whether you really need a built in Blu-Ray at that price.
Since you are obviously an enthusiast, and probably a heavy gamer, I would also reconsider getting Vista. XP is much less of a resource hog and unless you really need DX10 it will be a faster gamer. -
It shall be dual booted hehe. I got my xp pro discs ready!

Perfect!

Did you consider the NP9262?
A more bulky, powerfull and cooler/quiter system. You can have two 8800's and three hard disks. That would be an ultimate workstation and gaming machine -
Need the portability thats the only thing that made me turn away from the 9262. if it was under 10lbs with battery+ charger in bag i would of considered it.
-
can someone post a screen shot of wuxga? i am deciding between m9750 and np5793.

yaaay edit808 (you have 20 seconds to pull the trigger
) sorry your handle reminds me of ed209
that is a great spec, I would also doubt the point in a blu-ray drive in a notebook at the moment, but who am I to argue against progress
the ps3 option would get your movies on your tv nicely although keep an eye on blu ray players because the market is about to get satturated, (meaning notebook / desktop drives are going to get cheaper too)
and yes the 5793 is portable enough for me to take it out -
Gunna pull the trigger monday. I think i can live without a HDMI port, and a esata port, but dang dont you think this design would get smaller with the montevina platform... Hmmmmm Damn you technology!
-
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
I quite like the size of the machine, not too big to take out, yet big enough to feel desktoppy when using it, and of course the power
once the warranty is out / nearly out....I will be looking at finding more sata ports on the mobo so I can mount my own external e-sata on the case, there must be room somewhere, or I could take out the tv aerial port thats not in use -
i was thinking the same, do i really need the Blu Ray drive now, it boost the price up by £200 ($400~)... eSata and HDMI are also not present, but i feel these are not necessary at the moment, i was thinking of a eSata external HDD, but USB2 should be fine for what i want.

An e-SATA ExpressCard would be an affordable "right now" solution.
-
If you need a gaming rig, the X9000 CPU won`t do much. A penryn CPU is strong enough and gives a better battery life.
But for 3.5K I`d consider the 9262 and start building muscles -

Do you know about www.google.com? You can search for almost anything there.
For example, click on this link: http://www.google.com/search?q=esat...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a -
yep, plug it straight into the expresscard slot (it being expresscard 34 not 54 it'd only fill half the slot but it'd work fine).
You can get one here or at most online parts shops (ebuyer, dabs, etc...) -
-
trigger has been pulled and yes Rigby i do know about DVI to HDMI converters. Got a friend that works in best buy haha. As far as Esata goes dont really need it just would of been nice glad to see there are card slot options for it.
As of right now Im Currently STOKED! -

yeeeessssss! get in there edit808
in fact an e-sata card to hook up cheap drives hmmmmm nice idea....might get me one of those thingummys -
GF laughed when she saw me place the order she was like i have never seen you so Happy.... Well except the time you bought the AW m15x you seemed happy....
-
Out of interest, what was wrong with the m15x ?
-
the only problem my unit had was the heating issue. Lets just say AW CS is "OK" and leave it like that.
-
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
yeah well the GF wont be laughing when you are, glued to your favourite game for several hours in the day.........erm, yes dear..........no dear just posting a message on a forum dear I will be right there..........
(the wife wants some wallpaper scraping off) -
its sad though really i built an awesome gaming rig of a desktop and its reduced to TADA homework machine for the GF! She is a genius though she does put in her time of FFXI while she studies, how she does it i dont know! Man when that lappy comes in gunna have to phase her out for awhile to get comfy with my new lil friend.
-
You know, women got an awesome ability, multitasking
Anyway, nice rig you got on order there -
ah counting the days. and thanks M3z3iAs also thanks BOFH1971 for the funny remark.

lol anything to help make the wait pass quicker
now to go back to being addicted to games on my machine -
Hmmmm i got a question that im kinda dying to ask. As we all know the NP5793 notebook comes equipped with bluetooth 2.0EDR(enhanced data rate) but what i want to know if this 2.0 bluetooth has the supported A2DP profile. that be great. Still counting the days still on phase one ha...
-
Figured out the answer to my bluetooth 2.0 A2DP question... just got stoked again as i got an email saying im on phase 2! woooooooooooooo.... Take your time doing those burn in boys im in no rush.
-
Arrives tomorrow! and im off for 2 days, gunna put this baby through the torture test!
-
Hehe, nice one mate
Just remember to get some sleep and stand up from time till time -
And yea i agree with Mez remember to eat and sleep -
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
just take caffeine tabs, and get one of those hospital beds in a sat up position, the ones that move your muscles for you
then you can go for xtreme gaming!! (I even left the e off the beginning to look kool!) -
its here its here hurrah! man this baby runs cool!! kinda worried bout the HD though runs a bit hot to my taste floats around 48-50C funny how my m15x didnt run that hot. anyway just got done loading crysis hahah weeeeeeeee. Thank you UPS man you made my day!

and thats the last we see of edit808 (news headlines of man welding himself to his chair and desk...........)
-
So true lol.. I'm still waiting for mine though
-
Seing so many of you having the 8800M GTX makes me angry. Although all the games I`ve played,I`ve played on high.Including Crysis.
Nice setup, Edit, enjoy it. -
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
well actually eleron911 I am jealous of you because you have had a really good gaming laptop longer than me, which enabled you to play TF2 without graphics lag, and able to play HL2 ep2 without it slowing down making the last big vs the striders impossible....and and and the list goes on
I have a question why do gaming maniacs recommend sp3 for xp? before I install it -
Got the exact same spec from the UK. Cost me £1700 (circa £3400) but with the 160GB 7200 HD.
This laptop flies. Using my extreme X9000 at 3.2GHz and the 8800m at 600 950 I got 11280 at 3DMark06 and 21.85fps at the Crysis benchmark 1900x1200 All HIGH. Using 174.33 drivers with XP SP3 Beta.
Video
Crysis Assault_Harbor Demo Benchmark on a Novatech notebook with the X9000 CPU and the 8800m GTX video card.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ulwmf42W4hs
1900x1200 All HIGH except Shaders which are on MED.
35.8 FPS Average FPS -
Thats some impressive numbers micloi, but i run vista 64 HP any other Nvidia drivers i try to load aside from my stock drivers 167.44 result in a 4k ish 3dmark score instead of going above the 9k 3dmark score i get with 167.44. It seems day to day i start to not like vista more and more. Ill send ya a message regarding XP later. Also posted in the "drivers for the 8800m that does not suck" thread.
-
I will leave Vista on my 2nd laptop (Gateway P-6831FX) just to test things as I do not need that to be a speed demon -
out of curiosity Mic what is your Bios and Vbios?
-
Bios: 1.00.08
Vbios: 62.92.23.00.14 -
heh go figure thanks for lookin that up.
-
Did some more testing (see sig) and the best scores I got were at 3.1GHz rather than 3.2GHz BUT using a higher FSB. So 15x206.7 (3.1GHz) is faster then 16x200 (3.2GHz) both in Crysis and 3Dmark and my CPU temps are also lower.
Before i pull the trigger yes Another NP5793
