So in anticipation of receiving my laptop in another week+ I am trying to ready myself to write you guys a review. While I have not been into PC gaming lately I picked up a couple titles. I got a good price on FEAR and it seems its pretty standard in any current video game benchmark. I also picked up Microsoft Flight Sim X Deluxe. From reading reviews everyone says its an amazing game but is very taxing even on high end machines. I am excited to see how well a 5760 will handle a game like this. I am really an avid WoW player so Ill throw in a couple benchmarks from there as well. But my question is what program should I use to get FPS scores?

FRAPS (fraps.com) will do the trick just fine and is very easy to use.

I would also recommend RivaTuner, it takes up less resources then FRAPs.

Although, most games now have their own Framerate monitor with console commands... check out TweakGuides.com to see if your game as that option.

Both RivaTuner and FRAPS are good options. FRAPS is much more user-friendly, though RivaTuner uses up less resources, as said. But make sure you don't mess around with RT's settings if you don't know what you're doing, as they can mess up your card royally.

I'm not too familar with RivaTuner but FRAPS is really great! U can also record segments of ur benchmark. :D

The frame rate monitor in games only give u the current frame rate...FRAPS can provide a min, max, avg, etc.
