    Depends on where you live...
If US, then there's XoticPC or PowerNotebooks. There are good European resellers such as RockDirect and KobaltComputers as well, but they're much more expensive. XoticPC is reliable and ships worldwide! :)

If you are not located in the same country as the store, do not forget to add to the price the VAT.

Maybe becasue of the tax return. Eurocom does not charge the canadian VAT for international orders.

deosnt it really depend on what country he is from, sure he may say a bit but if it breaks hes going to lose those savings and possibly more on sending it back to be fixed

It depends on the country, but there is a very high chance it will not break.

but not 100%, if theirs a chance even if its 00000000000000000000000000000.1% chance of it breaking its still a chance, a chance that i wouldnt take.

It is a little like a lotery. In general the computers last for a long time. My present laptop was running for almost 3 years without problems, while many people on forums were complaining about it. Personally I prefer that I do not have to pay anything when somehting is breaking and it is still in warranty. Buying from US is cheaper fo europeans as long as there is no one or two times problems. I paid 2560 e for my next laptop and it has 3 years collect and return warranty and I am at least content for this deal.

i guess ya right, but say you are really unlucky and it breaks twice thats going to cost £200+ while if you get a laptop form your own country if it breaks you wont have to pay for it to be sent back and fixed

    Yes. You are right.
You can never know what can happen, so everybody can decide if it is worth the risk or not.

Why not look into coverage under your home insurance, or a separate insurance policy/service contract in your own country?

He was talking about the warranty. Is your home insurance paying for the shipping costs of a system under warranty?

The unfortunate thing is that this is a lottery which, if not played, leaves people like me who live overseas (neither in Europe, nor in the US) with little to no choice when it comes to buying a gaming notebook. The best graphics card available here (India) is the 8600M GT GDDR3 in the XPS 1530, which is GROSSLY overpriced.

If I were to pick the XPS I'd get warranty and local insurance, but I'd start looking around for another system with better graphics in no more than a year's time (at max.) So in effect, I could either play safe or take my chance and hope that the system I receive from the US will fall among the 99.999% of those that keep working fine for a long time.

For anyone who's even a little serious about gaming, I think it's a risk worth taking.
