    Howdy all!
What is the best Intel wifi/bluetooth card I can buy for my Sager NP9150? I do want and need bluetooth and want the latest standard I can get as well as upgrading from a Wireless-N 6235 to an AC card.

    Thanks in advance!

The Intel 8265 has been working well for me. :)

Not so much in a mini-PCI-e card slot ;)

Intel 7260AC mini pci-e card is the best for that machine.

Yep, after reviewing all my options, that's the one I will go with. Since my machine is a half mini and all the newer ones post 2014 are M.2. I bought my Sager toward the end of it's production run (mid-2014) and had a new motherboard installed mid-2016 because the first one was failing. So, I intend to get another 3 years out of it and I'd love to go beyond N and get AC since all my routers are AC.

So, I'll install a 7260 soon and let y'all know here if I run into any problems. Thanks all for your help!

It should serve you well, it did AC for me just fine. Just be aware to get the AC version and not the N version.

Well, I got and installed the 7260 and it was almost plug and play, worked great. But now I'm having bluetooth issues, the bluetooth is hit and miss. I keep my bluetooth connected to my Amazon Echo for better sound, so it is kind of vital I keep bluetooth. I completely uninstalled all of the Intel Wifi stuff and bluetooth and reinstalled the latest. So, why my 6235's bluetooth was solid and this one is not is above me. The biggest issue is that it connects and starts up fine but after a few minutes it inexplicably stops working and a get a Code 10 (device cannot start) in device manager. I have to disable the bluetooth and re-enable it to get it to work again. Any suggestions?

    Is this credible?

How would that single pin affect the bluetooth?

The last pin is usually some form of groundling line, tho I could be incorrect. It could be a viable reason why the BT is flaky, and not that hard to test.

Try swapping the connector used for each, see if it makes a difference.

Bluetooth is a single channel solution so likely only one of them will be used for it.

I haven't tried the taping off the last pin hack yet, but I might within the next day or two. This thing is still randomly connecting and disconnecting from my Echo.

    *problem solved*

Well, it seems I have fixed the problem! I hope I am not speaking too soon, but yesterday I was doing my last bit of problem solving through software before I was going to touch the hardware. As is usually the case, the simplest thing can fix the biggest of issues with computers. I went into the device manager for the bluetooth and checked all my settings and realized I had never adjusted the oft problematic "Allow this computer to turn off the device to save energy" under the power settings tab so I UNCHECKED it. That was yesterday around noon and I have not had one dropout or device failure ever since. So, everything with my new 7260AC is running superbly. Thanks for the help guys! I just hope this sticks.

That option should be disabled as default.

I thought so too, but apparently it wasn't and it is no feature I would've turned on myself. Either way, it seems fixed now.

It's more a comment on Microsoft because it's on as default for all hardware that supports the function even though it causes so many issues across all brands.

Gotcha. Now I plan on riding this NP9150 for a couple of more years and hopefully my financial situation will be good enough for me to get the latest and greatest Sager by then.

Sounds like a good plan, it should be a decent upgrade by that point certainly.
