What's the best company to buy a Sager NB? When I do a search on Sager, Sager is the first company that comes up. I guess I just answered my own question huh?

Actually, you should check with each of the resellers listed under Gophn's Clevo Guide because frequently one of the resellers will have a better deal than Sager itself - my best guess is that this happens because Sager understands the benefits it gets from having a cadre of resellers to do the marketing and basic support for it, and thus doesn't actively compete against them with the idea of undercutting them on price. Service is, essentially, the same either way as most serious system issues will ultimately get referred back to Sager; however, some of the resellers do provide additional support services beyond those available from Sager itself, so you would be best advised to check with the resellers before doing a buy from Sager directly.

I would also suggest buying from a reseller that is closer to you. For example, Powernotebooks is based in Nevada while XoticPC is based in Nebraska. As someone in California, it might be better to go with Powernotebooks since regular ground shipping will be a lot faster as it is being shipped from Nevada (if that matters to you). Of course you can just upgrade your shipping option, but why pay extra?

Just don't get too close to home, like in your own state, otherwise, you'll end up having to pay sales tax on the purchase.

They get shipped to PNB and XoticPC first, from there they are shipped out to the customer to avoid taxes. At least that's how it works if you're purchasing from CA since Sager is located in CA.

I don't know how that works, I was just pointing out that Sager laptops don't always ship from Sager.

Sager actually prefers business to be done through resellers.

And resellers are more than sales forwarders, I don't know how/why that BS line is being thrown around so often in this forum. Resellers often offer their own support lines, which are of higher quality than Sager's. And often, resellers throw in upgrades or freebies for purchasing through them. In most cases, the best way to order is to call.

The bottom line is that you get a more personalized and better ownership experience through a reseller than through Sager.

    By all means. ;)

Another thing to consider is that a lot of the resellers have their own notebook brand lines, so they're not just "resellers." The handle/oversee building the notebooks, warranty repairs, etc. On top of that, they provide the customer service and tech support for their own in-house machines and for Sager notebooks sold through them.

Chaz is good, Chaz is wise. Plus Chaz is in Philly so you have to listen to him. :D From what I can see in the FAQ Xotic and PN are the two best. Plus they offer Military discount. You have to go with the companies that do that. I just love discounts. :D

I mean the given you the best service. From what I've been reading in this forum and the internet, the two best are PN and Xotic. They can't be touched. So when I order, it will be from one of them.

I'm leaning towards Xotic 'cause I don't see customs skins & paint on PN's website.

They both have competitive prices but since both price match, that's not an issue.
