Is there a battery bank that will re-charge the battery in an NP8651? Unfortunately, I've run into conflicting information on the topic. Some say that that the battery bank needs to match both voltage and amps. Others imply that only voltage needs to match. Amps lower than spec will just charge more slowly. Honestly, I just need to know what BB will re-charge my laptop, if one exists. Thanks!

If you just want to charge the battery of the laptop without using it simultaneously then you can probably get away with a smaller rated bank. Voltage definitely needs to match your original power supply but for amps, around 5-6A will be safe just for charging the battery with the pc closed. For specific banks I haven't researched any particular models though.

Anything you plug in at the right voltage with the right connector and polarity can charge the battery with the machine off, though going very small wont get you very far. The higher the amps the better the results, be aware that the draw can be fairly high so if you don't get a bank that's properly designed it may overheat and fail.

Thank you for your replies. This info is quite helpful! Meaker@Sager, could you tell me what size connector the NP8651 uses? I've seen adapter tips for Dell and the like, but not for Sager (Clevo). Also, from your tag, I'm making an assumption that you work for Sager (Yay!). Do you have any recommendations for a good BB? Specific brands, if you're allowed to say so; otherwise, min. specs would be appreciated. If this were your system, what would you get?

5.5x2.5mm barrel connectors with the inside of the barrel being positive, 19-19.5V will work. As for which to choose I can't make any recommendations myself (it's not something that fits with my needs).
