LOL! Do I even want to know what a refurbished TIM would look like? Maybe they scrape it off and put it back in the tube! :D

nah i didnt mean tim, only hardwares like maybe graphics card replacement fans etc. the ones the sellers claim genuine new are usually pulled and serviced units. like when i bought ps4 slim fan.

that seems fine. dont have any other idea as to why multiple pastes from multiple manufacturers are failing. anyways goodluck

Thing is they are not failing on the GPU. It's only the CPU die. So far only conduconaut stays put. I believe it might be caused by the good fit + that the die is so small.

but you have tried some good pastes. i delidded my ps3 slim (gpu and cpu) which idled around 65 and during gaming cpu hovered around 72 and gpu around 80. after delidding and mx4 idles around 58 and gaming cpu reads around 63 and gpu around 70.

did it around a year back. dont have a decent pc so cant help with that. sorry.

really anxious to know the solution though.

I used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on my AW 15 R2. Apparently it's the best non-conductive TIM on the market? I've been satisfied with the results. After a fresh application and cleaning the fans, my CPU temps dropped by 12c.

A higher thermal density is more difficult too and CPUs tend to be more thermally dense than GPUs.

Well yes, but apparently after some time non conductive solutions just slowly pump out over time. Conduconaut doesn't do that for instance.
