Sorry I'm new to Sager. I am planning to buy a new laptop.

What'd be the best 13-15" gaming laptop within $900-$1200 and why?

Lighter the better. I don't want to upgrade for a long time.

You should be able to slide into a lower end 150em for that kinda cash. The nice part is when you get some extra cash you can easily upgrade to any of the high end GPU's and CPU's. Plenty of space for RAM, mSATA, etc.

You mention 13".... three is a new 13 from Clevo that people seem to love. But to me for the money I'd rather have the 15". But, some truly utilize the smaller form factor and thus its justified.

Really its up to you, and your needs. Start checking off your wants and needs - the right Clevo will become apparent really quickly. Then it'll be a matter of which reseller or builder you want to go with. Obviously for me the only choice is in my signature. If you check my post history I believe it was yesterday I gave a rather detailed explanation of why Mythlogic has me as a customer for life. Dont want to clutter this thread up with that too when you can find it on another thread already.

For gaming you'll want the best video card you can get which would be the Nvidia GTX 770M in the NP8235 which is a 15.6". The 13.3" NP7330 has been really popular. Its a step down for the video card with the GTX 765M but is still a great card considering the size of the notebook. That model also has a backlit keyboard which when you get used to you can not go wihtout. Ideally if you can bump up just a little more the NP8265/8275 both have the GTX 770M and a backlit keyboard and are also 15.6". For your desire for the lightest it would be the NP7330.

    I can't find Clevo/Sager on that website :[

So for the 15" ones, which one do you think is the best? NP8235NP8265/NP8275? And later, will I be able to upgrade any hardware if I want to? Any SLI support (not that it's that useful for gaming)?

Mythlogic has their own models and series names, rather than the Clevo/Sager nomenclature.

NP8275 would be best out of the ones you listed. The 8265 is similar to the 8235, although the 8265 supports AMD cards and is offered with the option of upgrading to the 4930MX CPU. The 8275 is capable of both AMD cards and the 4930MX processor, and has a larger screen.

No SLI available on any of those models, the ones that support it are all 17.3" which are the NP9380/9390/9570. And is actually usefull for gaming its the only reason to get SLI.
Out of the 3 you mentioned the NP8265 would be my choice since it has a backlit keyboard which the 8235 does not, the 8275 is 17.3".

@Prostar, I couldn't find any shipping details on your site. How much would the shipping cost be to Canada and how long does it take?

Right now I'm trying to consider the cost (incl shipping & tax). Deciding between XoticPC, Pro-Star & Retroflex.

You can upgrade the GPU in the P series (clevo) or NP8230 and up (eg P150SM/NP8250) all others will be soldered, that also goes for all gigabyte machines they are not upgradable.

I have a W230ST -- it's the upper end of your price range but if you want "lightweight" and "gaming laptop" there's no better option. You can get slightly lighter machines with a 760m or lower; you can get heavier machines with a beefier GPU (or SLI, in the case of Lenovo); but you can't get a machine this light with such a powerful GPU, and laptop GPU upgrades are not something you should expect.

If you want upgrades, I suggest getting the cheapest configuration you can find, then you can drop in more RAM, an SSD (or two! It has dual mSATA slots), or a better CPU. There's even talk in the owners' lounge of trying to slot in a MBP retina display, but I wouldn't try it myself -- 1080p on a 13" is already gorgeous :D

Like was said above, they are builders - not resellers. So they put together the laptop themselves rather then order it from sager and ship it on to you. If you search the 13 and 15 inch laptops and look around,, you will see the models they are based on. ie If you select the 15" Pollux 1513 - it's based on the 150em. The Chaos 1313 is based on the W230ST.. Etc, etc.

Some of the resellers/reshippers do receive the laptop first and do some additional QA to them or add any options that can not be ordered directly from Sager. All of this is done in one place with Mythlogic. Which means if you ever have to warranty the laptop it isn't getting shipped off to Sager, its being handled by Mythlogic themselves.

Well they are a clevo reseller, there is a difference between a sager reseller and a clevo reseller but they are still a reseller.
