I may be interested in purchasing a M860TU, but I definitely want a Blu-Ray drive (though I don't really need a Blu-Ray burner). Where is the best place to buy one with a pre-installed Blu-Ray drive?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Xoticpc.com is widely used around here and reputable. EDIT: Where are you?

    you can probably get a sager w/o a blu-ray drive and get a ps3 cheaper than a sager w/ blu-ray. just a thought.

I am in the US. Xoticpc was the very first place I looked, but I don't see a Blu-Ray option.

I already have a PS3, and thus a very large Blu-Ray library. That's why I want my laptop to have a Blu-Ray drive, so I can watch those movies when I travel (which is almost every week).

    Thanks,

    Doug

Unfortunately Sager is still waiting on the new SATA Blu Ray Drives. We haven't received a confirmed date yet of their arrival. :( If you are comfortable with it you can always put a Blu Ray in later?

Any idea how much a Blu-Ray drive will cost when they come in? And will they be plug and play?

The price is usually around $500 (but that is with a new machine.) I'm not quite sure how much they will be by themselves. It should definitely be plug in play. You might have to install the Blu-Ray software, but that should come with the Drive.

PCMW had a special where it was $450 but that has passed. Perhaps you can negotiate with them and see if you can get a good price on it. Who knows if they don't bring another sale with these blu rays for the EDGE when they finally receive the drives.
