I am really leaning towards getting the M860TU within the next month and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a company(s) allowing full customization of this machine at this time. I've seen the Eurocom page but the pricing seems rather high =(.

You're looking for a gaming laptop, obviously the price is going to be high. But you get what you pay for. And as of now, the 860tu isn't released yet, so there are no real legit way of knowing what the true cost is going to be. everything now is speculation till the 15th

yeah.. but thats not what he asked for. probably the closest pricing you'll find right now is PCMW but we don't know what Xotic or powernotebooks will have.

Right now PCMW is having a forth of july weekend sale on their laptops, the EDGE (M860TU) is $550 dollars off regular price with the promise of price matching for the next 2 months, which means you are guaranteed the best price. Plus, it's warranties offer a lot more than regular resellers and with some of them, you get free items, such as laptop bags, coolers, etc.

The thing about waiting till 15th is that you won't get that free 4 gb RAM upgrade which I think is a GREAT deal. 2 gb of ddr3 ram isn't cheap as ddr2 by a wide margin.

Wait for the laptop to be officially released, then make up your mind. It might get better pricing or options when it's released.

For the 5796 when you place the order for the 5793 the 2gigs to 4gigs is free, which will be changed to ddr3 for the 5796 for people who have placed the order the 5793 which is out of stock right now so it will become the 5796.

The OP is asking about the Sager NP8660 (Clevo M860TU), not the NP5796...so the free memory upgrade does not apply.

I still don't think they will give out free upgrade to 4GB RAM on 5796, even you order the 5793 now. Just think about how expensive DDR3 are.

thats only a gimmick. i can actually show you my old memorial day sale order and it actually ends up cheaper than the same config now with the 4th of july sale. they are playing you for fools.

EDIT :eek:ops, sorry i thought we were on about pcmw again. nevermind...... statement still stands though in accordance to the comparison of the two sale periods.

Yes, that is the announced policy. Sager will be providing the free upgrade to 4GB DDR3/1066MHz memory to all that Pre-Order the NP5793 now.

Any orders for the NP5793 placed now "...will be replaced by the NEW NP5796 with the latest Intel chipset and processor technology, and DDR3/1066MHz memory, beginning the week of July 14th. Any orders placed now will be filled with the new NP5796 with an equally matched configuration and your price will be guaranteed...unless the new release pricing is lower in which case you will get the lower price!"
