New UI update, probably more functional that way.

So what's the word on these?

There was a site that posts the beta drivers etc. I can't recall what the name of the site is, can someone link it pls?

I have a question, does anyone had a crash problems with the new AMD 12.9beta?

I just get my new Vortex III (P150EM) and made clean install of everything. However, when I installed the stock Intel driver which came with the DVD and the new AMD 12.9 Beta the laptops start to crash every time I restart.
I know that the problem come from AMD because it's related to atikmpag.sys but I'm not sure if it's because of the Intel driver 'which is older version' or because of the new AMD beta driver.
Now I'm using stock Intel and AMD, which looks more stable.

I've been getting the same bsod ever since 12.9; it's definitely the AMD driver.

So, we'll have to wait for something more stable.
However, I'm not worried because of it, for what I see there are a whole new bunch of new hw product that need new drivers. I suppose the next 6 moths to 1 year we will see a lot new drivers and not only for AMD. Intel also has to upgrade their tools and drivers.

Now just waiting...mmmm I hate waiting ;) but what we can do.

I'm having the same atikmpag.sys bsod. I've done hundreds of installs uninstalls without success. if I get the PC to boot without bsod the CCC doesn't work. I get CLI.Implenentation error.

Then something is wrong with your install. I have no BSOD or issues with CCC.

Try using Windows Installer Cleanup after install to make sure everything for AMD/CCC is uninstalled.

Not sure what to suggest, but, definitely not installing correctly. The 12.9 cannot be installed directly for one, it doesn't support switchable graphics, it says it right on the release note. So if you've been trying to do that, next time try reading the release notes. You still need to install drivers that support switchable first, like the default Clevo or maybe a Leshcat driver.

    Steps done and get BSOD

1.- Uninstall AMD Driver via the control panel, select delete all AMD software option. (Didn't have to because it was clean install of WIN7)
    2.- Reboot
3.- Uninstall Intel HD Graphics driver (If any, In my case it got uninstalled when deleting AMD drivers ). (Didn't have to because it was clean install of WIN7)
    4.- Reboot
5.- Open device manager and make sure both Display Adapters say: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
6.- Install official Intel HD Graphics 4000 Driver (Not clevo one). (Here may be is my error, because I did install supplier one not from Intel)
    7.- Reboot
    8.- Install AMD Beta Drivers
    9.- Reboot

The rest it was how it is described. The only difference is that I installed the Intel driver from DVD it came.
With that steps I've got BSOD the same as slekkas
However, I'll try tonight with the new Intel driver and see what happens.

Try using driver sweeper after you have manually uninstalled the drivers and make sure it is cleaned. You will have issues if there is even one trace of any drivers left over.

You installed it wrong. You can't just install Intel drivers and then install AMD drivers. You need to install drivers that SUPPORT SWITCHABLE!!! Like I said, install the Clevo drivers or Leshcat first, then install the 12.9 beta over it. There is no other way to do it...

Also about Driver Sweeper, PLEASE IGNORE. It's complete hogwash, bs, and simply not true. Driver Sweeper will do more damage than good. Avoid it like the plague. Just use the uninstaller from add/remove programs and then install like I said above. On Windows 7, good idea to avoid registry cleaners in general. Just like avoid defragmenting on SSD, it's not needed and be potentially harmful than good.

Actually I didnt installed the stock driver first. I uninstalled all the catalyst driver and intel drivers, used driver sweeper.. Some say it may be not good but I've been using it for years and had no problems at all. After restarting check in device manager if you have the standard vga installed , one with an exclamation mark on it. Then I downloaded the hd4000 intel driver from theyr page, installed it , restarted and than installed the 12.9 driver normally. the UI is new, but I also spotted that the GPU is not turning off like before, and battery goes down faster.

So, what is the point to install the new CCC if it's not working properly.

I prefer to wait when official driver comes out and it says that our GPU is supported and you don't have to work round to make it work.

Instead of saying you did it wrong. Can you explain step by step how you did it? From the very beginning. No offence, but I still didn't get your previous explanation.

I'm using the regular Intel driver (not the clevo or leshcat) with the 12.9 beta, and everything works fine for me. No BSODs, and my 7970M is shutting off just fine when no applications that are set to use the 7970M are active. I can tell that it turns off because the GPU monitoring software I use drops all values for the 7970M to 0 when it is off.

Yes also for me, in MSI afterburner the clocks jump to ) when I turn of kombuster, but It idles at around 42 C, what it idles when I have kombuster on. Before it idled at around 30 C. I also spotted faster battery drain.

I did it this way a few hours ago and for now it works fine. Clevo Intel driver + clevo original AMD and on top 12.9 beta.

That's good to know that someone did it the same way.
