So, a 'friend of mine' did a screen swap on his Sager NP8170 (BALLING laptop... AUO V5 = the cat's pajamas). Figuring the adhesive was amenable to double-sided tape, he said "F*** it", and the pieces that didn't come with the little rubber feet fell victim to the wrath of the screwdriver he used to remove the screws.

What, if anything, would be a suitable substitute for either the adhesive behind the feet (which 'he' has), or where might 'he' find replacement feet with fresh adhesive stuff on their back?

He can buy 3m thin double side tape or just super glue it back on.

Superglue aka 502 doesn't bond rubber well. What u need is 401 cement. I use it to glue the rubber feet back to aluminum on my Alienware m17x

The adhesive is more like a light glazing of rubber cement.

If you get double sided tape go to a hardware store to get it. They have lot of different strength ones. I used some for my window visors on my truck and they hold great, even in the rain, interstate, snow, what ever! I bet they could hold those feet on no problem

I'd make sure whatever you stick on isn't totally permanent though. If you ever need to remove the feet again, you don't want to have to shred them to get them off. Something with an included solvent to remove it, or even just a basic rubber cement. Double sided tape works, but I've noticed on projects I use it for that it tends to lose effectiveness over time and/or become impossible to remove cleanly once it has as well.

I dont know I use superglue from 99 cent store on my old laptop and it never came off. Thats 3 years of owning it and then I sold it. But I guess it depends on the brand of superglue because I tried using Krazy glue before and it doesnt hold as well. The 99 cent was a no brand and it did better than Krazy glue.
But I guess the best pick is rubber cement.
I have thin 3M double side tape I can mail you a 5 inch strip for 50 cent.
