Is there a noticeable difference between it and generic wireless setups? I am trying to decide if you would even notice a difference during gaming.

^^^^For one you should notice more than 2x the download speed capability with the Bigfoot 1103 or the Intel 6300.
They also have a better range of reception over the stock wireless

Larry, what are the benefits of the Bigfoot 1103 over the 6300?
I can't find anything else except Bigfoot software.. -

The KILLER 1103 makes this claim...
"The Killer Wireless-N family includes Advanced Stream Detect technology to automatically classify and prioritize latency-sensitive network traffic for online games,
HD video and high-quality audio to maximize your online experience."
So gamers who do online gaming (I am not one so I cannot verify this) say it is the best for this sort of activity.
Yes the software package is what many are liking too. Maybe others can chime in on this.

That depends on your ISP and the router you're using. I can play the game in wireless mode flawlessly (Intel 6230 + wrt54gl router). The lag always come to my ISP or game server.

If you have a Realtek Ethernet Port, you can use this:
Its pretty much the same as the BigFoot Software but you need to use your ethernet port. -
I have both cards.
The Bigfoot Killer 1103 is a rebranded Atheros chip.
Both cards have excellent hardware but the Bigfoot software is a horrible, bloated, buggy mess. My advice - go with the Intel 6300. It's the same performance (range, speed etc) as the Bigfoot but with much better drivers. -

You get much better range and wireless stability. -
Thanks draxen,
You just saved me $60.

When looking at the current options regarding wireless, i first like to look at the anandtech article posted around here not too long ago. Second thing i notice is that the Default wireless NIC in these clevos is the same realtek 8188 in the article, and it performs surprisingly well in everyday tasks. (It matches the others for ping times and range, but not in throughput. Ask yourself how often you transfer a large file from one computer on the network to another wirelessly.)
