    Hello,

has been a while since I visited these forums. I bought a Sager NP5793 with a 8800M GTX in March 2008. This morning, while I was playing a game, my laptop crashed and I got a hardware failure error (blue, green and red stripes on my lcd and a hard to read massage stating just that). When I restarted the computer the screen stayed black, but the computer booted Vista (heard the boot-up jingle).

I switched on my lcd tv to check if my notebook panel was broken, but the TV stayed black as well.

Now my conclusion is, that my graphics card is broken (Just after 1,5 years of use... ). Since I don`t really want to buy a new computer now, I was considering getting a replacement for my graphic-card. I am kind of out of the recent run up of graphic chips and technical advancement, so I was hoping to get a few suggestions on what options I have from you people. :)

I guess there are a few questions to be answered...

    1) Maybe I conclusion is wrong and its an altogether different problem?
    2) What gfxcards can I get into my notebook? The 8800M GTX is MXMIII compatible or something (forgot the term) What cards can i fit in?
    3) Should I send in my PC to Sager and let them fix it , or should I just get somewhere a cheap replacement and put it in myself?
    4) Other options?

I would be very thankful of any suggestions/opinions/advice you people cvan offer, as I am kind of a video game junky that can`t survive for long without a functioning PC... :D

    Thanks in advance
    P.
