Did you get an official BIOS for the exact W870CU ?

Try to load the BIOS again.

Yes, a Bios from this http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=416916 page.

I cannot load the Bios again, because the monitor is black, and the Laptop is not working.

Let me guess. You either did one of two things. You updated the BIOS first before the keyboard firmware, or you flashed an earlier BIOS that does not support the MR 5870. Apart from corruption, those are the two most viable reasons for your no POST scenario.

Yes, i updatet it with the BIOS 1.00.01 with OC, because i wanted the OC options. Now, I think i need the BIOS V 1.00.10 again.

Do you have any ideas, what can i do?

In short, greed led you to downdate your system BIOS. Because the MR 5870 microcode did not exist back with the original 1.00.01 BIOS, your notebook cannot pass POST because it doesn't see your graphics adapter, essentially meaning that this cannot be worked around with a blind flash. What you can do is borrow a GTX 280M from someone so that your system can POST, and then reflash 1.00.05 or later, which is the minimum needed for the MR 5870 to function. The best option though is to send it in to your vendor and have them reflash it back for you. Because you flashed an unsupported BIOS for your given hardware, it is a warranty voiding action and you will need to pay for labor to have them insert the GTX 280M and flash your system BIOS back.

Ok. A friend has the W870cu with the GTX 260. So I can take his GTX in my laptop and update the bios back to 1.00.10. Then I have to take back my MR5870 to my laptop and everything is ok?!

When I change the graphic card, what I have to take care about? Is it simple or difficult?

I have also an older clevo laptop with a GTX 7950. Can I take this card, or is it too old?

Thank you very much for your help.

Your friend with the 260M is your salvation. Changing the video card is relatively easy. Go on the first page of the W870CU thread and there is a service manual there which will show you how to do it.

The GTX 7950 will not work with the W870CU.

Did you make sure the GPU fan was plugged back in it's proper connector socket? There are two sockets next to each other and you need to plug it into the left one. On some machines, if the notebook does not detect the fan there, it will not POST.

Did you change the heatsink as well? The heatsink for the GTX 260M is different from the heatsink for the MR 5870.

I have a bad feeling about this. Was the battery removed the entire time you were removing the GPU and/or system memory?

Yes, we removed the battery and we were careful about anti-static.

Could it be, that I have a new motherboard version and the 1.00.01 Bios doesn´t support the new motherboard?
When I change the bios chip with an 1.00.10 Bios, I would be save? On E-Bay i have seen some offers with a flashed bios chip.

I think I have localized the problem.

The Notebook manufactor placed a false CPU in the Notebook.

I have the Core I7-620M instead of the Core I7-720M in my book.
So it cannot have any function with the 1.00.01 Bios, because only the 1.00.10 Bios support Arrandale CPU.
The manufactor will send me a 720M an I will try it as soon as possible.
I hope this will be the solution.

Wow, two problems in one; a CPU and GPU compatibility issue. Did you purchase your W870CU with the 720QM and received the 620QM by mistake?

Yes, it was a mistake. I wanted the 720QM and got the 620QM.

Yesterday I controlled the CPU and then I called the Manufactor.
On Friday I will get the 720QM. Then I will change the CPU and the GPU from my friend and hope I can flash back to 1.00.10.

Sounds like a plan. It should go smoothly when your 720QM comes in on Friday.

    Now, everything is okay!

I had only to change the CPU (now i7 720QM) and the notebook started normal.
I didn´t have to change the GPU.

Then i flashed back to 1.00.10 and I am happy again. :D

Thanks to all, for your help.
