    Hi everyone

Yesterday I tried to update BIOS on my Clevo P670RP. I received the BIOS files from my re-seller, inside the folder was a .txt file with an instruction of how to perform an update:

    "How to flash BIOS ROM:

    1. Plug in AC adaptor.
    2. Enter CMOS setup to disable "UEFI" if the item is set to "Enable".
    3. Boot up and enter pure DOS environment, run Meset.exe then system will restart automatically, please enter pure DOS environment again.
    4. Run flashme.bat then system will shut down automatically.
    5. Plug off AC adapter for 5 seconds then plug in AC adapter.
    6. Power on system and enter CMOS to check the version of BIOS.
    7. To load system default, change the setting(s) if the original settings are different from system default, save change and reboot.
    "

I did follow the steps and everything worked perfectly up until the point number 5. After powering the laptop back on, it's stuck in some kind of a boot loop - it works for a while - with a black screen and no feedback whatsoever - and then it restarts itself. Black screen and restarting.

To perform the updated I created a FreeDOS USB using Rufus.

I tried taking off all the power sources - CMOS battery, main battery and obviously the AC power cord. I left the laptop for 10+ minutes like that, but it didn't do anything. The first restart just takes place after a second.

So, how bad is the situation? Is there any way to perform some kind of a recovery or is contacting my re-seller an only option at this point?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

    Cheers!

Apart from removing cmos+battery+adapter also press and hold down the power-on button for 10-20 seconds as that will ensure all the capacitors on the board are also drained (these are tiny batteries themselves).

If that makes no difference then yes, contact your reseller and have them verify the bios they send you was the right one for your system. You've followed the instructions to the letter, so the hiccup is unlikely to be found on your end. Could also ask them if an emergency flash is ok with them; if that works it'd save them the hassle and you the few weeks without a system.
