My screen suddenly starter to go black but not totally black. I can see the picture if I point a light on the screen. So I did some research and basically found out it could be the inverter board or the Backlight bulb or in worst case the gfx card.

So I ordered a new Inverter board and installed it and this didn't fix the problem but it did make the black screen appear less. It will now stay on most of the time when am using desktop apps and watching movies, it will go black and suddenly appear again after awhile and continue like this. If I turn on a game I will speed up the processes and it will turn black a lot faster it will also go black and appear again but with a lot longer intervals. Iv tested it on a LCD monitor when its black and I can see the display so I asum its not the gfx card.

So am wondering if this is the Backlight bulb? I would think if it was the backlight bulb I would have the Black screen all the time?

    *edit* Thanks Niff ;)

No, its not the 'black light bulb' :p Yea its probably the CCFL backlight.

    What laptop is this?

You can replace the backlight on the screen, it can be a tricky operation but its worth it because the LCD panel is still good.
The problem is that sometimes you end up having to separate the different layers of the LCD which include plastic diffusers and stuff...
I would love to do it for you :)

Hehe yeah I meant the Backlight lamp :D Its a Clevo m570tu and its to complex for me to do myself. I'm located in Norway so I would have to send it to you and that will cost for shipping also there would be trust involved. I'm having a problem finding any sites that sell the lamp for Clevo m570tu. I found this one Laptop LCD CCFL Backlight Lamp for Prostar M570TU 17 WSXGA+ but I'm not sure if Prostar m570tu is a renamed Clevo?

The CCFL doesn't matter... any 17" one the right size will work. They are all over Ebay. Actually yallstore isn't very good, they have a history of scamming people... I'd have to find one of better quality then the ones on ebay, I'm not sure how good they are.

You mean it would be too complex for you to take the screen out of the laptop? I wouldn't think of taking your whole laptop from you, just the screen, its not too difficult.
Anyway if you were willing to pay shipping for me to do that, I could give you some money as a deposit.

No i meant its to complex to change the backlight myself so I would need someone to do it for me. I could take the screen out myself :) But the problem seem to be fixed after I cleaned the heatsinks I noticed one of the screws to the gfx card heatsink wasn't tightened I tighten it and now its working ! Hope it last been running stability test for a few hours now and its looking good :D

Thanks for the info on yallstore. And thank you for your help its appreciated!
