Anyone know of a Blu-Ray drive that is relatively inexpensive that is compatible with the NP8662?

Clevo ship their notebooks with the Pioneer BDR-TD01RS (HW: 1.00, FW: 1.00)(F/W DATE CODE: 08-06-24) So this is 100% compatible.

If you want Blueray Combo, they ship HLDS CT10N (ROM VER. WH06). So also 100% compatible.

Prices should be around 325$ for the first and 210$ for the second + shipping

Problem is you are in the UK, I'm in USA so shipping would probably kill the cost. I can get one from XoticPC actual replacement for $165 + shipping (approx $180)

Yeah, shipping costs would be about 10 pounds, while I should be interested in selling :D, I prefer to tell you that XoticPC is a better option for you in this case.

This was used by Sager for their pre-D900F laptops:
    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Hewlett-Pack-UJ-120-Rewriteable-Notebooks/dp/B001QA4TQO

It is an IDE, not SATA, BD drive that works well in my D901C. I was able to get it for about 80$ last July, not sure why the price went up.

I think that The SATA version of the same drive is UJ-130:
    http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/266714676/Blu_ray_BD_ROM_Drive_Burner.html

Their corresponding BD Burners for UJ-120 and UJ-130 are UJ-220 (IDE) and UJ-230 (SATA) respectively.

You should look if your ODD has a PATA/IDE or a SATA controller. If you have a SATA controller you should go with the UJ-130/UJ-230 or Sony 5500S.

Not sure if Blacky's drive is the 5500A or the 5500S version, he could tell you more.

The newer laptops have the SATA controller ODDs.
