Sager is now accepting pre-orders for a Blu-Ray burner (Panasonic UJ-220) for the NP5792 and NP9262.

The upgrade cost over the standard optical drive is $495.

The drives will be available for the NP5792 starting December 28, and they will be shipping simultaneously with the NP9262.

That`s quite a price. They should be offering pre-order discounts for Xmas and such, I`d love one. But being the case, mark my words,in a year from now, Blu Ray burners will cost 250-300 $ :D
Although this 500$ price is not that bad considering what ammount of data a blu ray disk can hold (25 Gb and 50 GB). 3 of these babies are bigger than my hdd :D

Yeah PC MIcroWorks was already offering the BLu Ray RW drives since November with the Blackhawk's, but for a hefty price of around US$900. Hence I did not opt for that piece, instead as stated below to wait for the price to come down, and upgrade with PCMW at wholesale cost at a later date.

I would recommend checking Ebay for bluray burners. Much cheaper $350 vs $500. You can get the same model also btw.

i didnt see any Bluray or HD DVD drives on ebay that were not already in another laptop. Where can you normally buy these drives that would fit in one of these brands of laptop?
