Every single time I play DOTA on Warcraft3, I get a blue screen of death and the laptop reboots. Any1 is having the same issue? What can cause it? I installed all the drivers from the CD (not sure if they're up to date).
Thanks!

Go to the advanced pane of your system properties, Startup and Recovery, and uncheck "Automatically Restart". Then, the next time you bluescreen, write down the error message you get. Then, "Google is your friend"... and so are we.
-
which OS are you using?
and which antivirus? -
Nop, not one blue screen in the last week (my lappie only have one week) so i guess this laptop is blue screen protected by god.
-
Win XP Pro, AVG free AV.
But this only happens when playing Warcraft 3 apparently. -
thats strange.
Is that the latest update for the game?
And did you try to disable the AVG while gaming? -
Same laptop, I used AVG - no problems (had to reformat, using avast! atm though).
Default drivers from the CD - same Version of WC3 w/ Dota online I'm guessing.
So I'm guessing it might be another issue?
(I am using a Chinese-English version of WC3:FT though that I bought online) - It is still in english though, no problems at all. -

Hey it's you can buy Warcraft3 Chinese vers doesn't mean is pirated

Kodo ---use your noodle.

ah sorry got two game confused you can buy WOW in Chinese.
But i did check blizzard website
"For what languages will Warcraft III be localized?
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne will be available in English, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Czech, traditional Chinese (for release in Taiwan), simplified Chinese (for release in the People's Republic of China), and Japanese." i don't know if its a patch or they release in those country -
I wont beat a dead horse here, but a Chinese English version bought online sounds like a bootleg to me....
Let's agree that there is a high degree of likelyhood that the game is a bootleg, and a higher degree that this is the cause of his problem.
Sometimes 1 + 1 = 2. -
The person with the problem sounds like he has the english version. I am the one with english-chinese version (I paid 19.99 for it - its usually 24.99 at the stores - you need to get a verified version w/ a cd key to play online (not a bootleg))

Indeed DogsoverLava: you jumped to conclusions. Did you even read OP? If you did, you should have noticed Idiamond has a problem. tomstrife clearly said he did NOT have a BSOD!

I had the same problem with my M570RU, for me it was a problem with the Audio driver. The one on the driver CD was an old version (R1.69), so I went to Realtek's website and downloaded the latest one (something like R1.73, or something like that...I know it had a 73 in it
) After I updated the driver the bluescreen went away. It might not be the same problem for you, but just make sure all your drivers are up to date, mainly Video card and Audio (since you're having problems in games). As for the video card, assuming you're using a 7950gtx I've had no problems with the 163.16 forceware drivers from laptopvideo2go.com, which is also newer than the one included on the CD.

I think I found the problem, I finally managed to play an entire DOTA
I think it was caused by Synergy (A tool for sharing keyboard and mouse between different computers through a network). I plugged my keyboard and mouse directly in my laptop and I didnt get any bluescreen. However, I only tried it once, so maybe I got lucky. Ill check out the Audio drivers if the bsod comes back!
Thanks!
Btw, I have an original US-English WC3 version... -
But you still have to apologize for Jean Claude Van Damme. -
OK
I'm sorry
