Hello, not sure this has been answered somewhere else, but:

For some reason my bluetooth module auto disables itself on reboot  (I got a D900C). Meaning I need to use fn+12 to "boot" it up and make it visible to OS after each restart. Tbh it's not much of a hassle, it just bugs me that I can't find where to set it up!

So, is there a way to make the fn-12 toggle "stick" over boot?

My D900C's Bluetooth module does not need to be turned back on when the machine was shut off. However, it did the first few times... maybe I got lucky?

I have a similar issue with the M860TU. Bluetooth needs to be activated if the system sleeps or if I shut the lid(which essentially puts the notebook in sleep--

"I do wonder if this a power saving "feature".

I seem to remember that once upon a time it actually remembered the toggle state of bluetooth.

Actually I'm pretty ok as it is atm as I don't use any BT keyb/mouse, just hook up my cell every now and again, but if i ever get a BT mouse or some such requiring BT up every boot again, well then it would be a pain i guess.

I've upgraded BIOS to latest a few month back, so maybe there was a BT option in old BIOS that is not available in the new one (currently using H8 firmware 1.00.13 & BIOS 1.00.22, can't remember old versions)?

Earlier bluetooth used to turn 'on' automatically after restart on my NP5793.

But after a windows reinstall a few months back, it doesn't turn on by itself and i have to do so manually!!

I wonder what has changed since then!?

Have you checked your msconfig startup items? It sounds like your blue tooth device's software has been removed from Window's list of startup programs/devices.

Wish it was, when i enable the driver to load on boot it complains on not seeing the hardware and exits with error (unless i toggle the BT to on during boot process in which case it loads just fine).

So to me it sounds like a HW toggle setting somewhere...

It´s related with BIOS settings. For M57RU the old bios is BT auto on, newer is default off.

Well, can it be enabled for good in the bios? It's annoying to keep turning it on each time the system goes to sleep, especially w/ BT enabled mouse.

    Just read kaltmond's post again-

    Make that a big d'oh!!!!

Well, unfortunately, at least for the N8662/M860TU, there is NO on/off in the BIOS to enable/disable the BT-

    :(

I thought you said we can set the BT on permanently through the BIOS?
