Hi guys, my laptop is only about 5 months old, but every time I boot it, broken red lines appear on the upper portion of the screen during the moment Sager logo is shown. I do not experience performance issues but could it be a symptom of something bad?

    sounds like a gpu problem.

can you post your system spec.
which graphics drivers you have installed. when it first started and was it after a driver/windows update.
also have you overclocked and if so what settings.
lastly can you also get a picture using your mobile phone or camera and upload it to your post on here.

Drivers wont impact artifacting during boot. Also it's unlikely to be the dedicated GPU as it wont be outputting to the display at that point. Check your system ram, try running with a single stick.

youve not mentioned how much ram you have and also how many sticks ie, 1 x 8gb or 2x4gb etc.

im not sure of how many slots your model has but normally if 4 slots 2 are in the base and 2 under the keyboard.

Meaker means remove all ram sticks and just boot with one at a time to check each one.

It's just the two slots in this model under the main bottom cover.

Do said lines fluctuate in any way if you apply pressure to the screen (or the casing behind it)? What about when you pivot it?

Throw caution to the wind. It sounds like something is intermittently defective here. Keep a close eye on it!

If it remains stable and normal, though, then great!
