    Brand new Clevo, Same old Sager Issue

    So recently, I was told by XoticPC and Sager themselves that my motherboard/graphics card needed replacement in my Sager 9150. So instead of replacing those two components for 1200, I instead bought a Clevo P150SM, which had up-to-date GPU and processor. Unfortunately, its now doing the EXACT same thing as the 2 year old Sager after 1 week.

    Sager 9150:

    I'm really at a loss for words at this point. I don't understand how it could do the exact same thing after a week, when previously it was diagnosed as a bad motherboard/GPU.

    that does look like a gpu problem but we need more info.

    have you overclocked or are using a different psu power brick.
    does it do the same on battery only and then mains only without the battery installed.

    can you also post the rest of your spec.
    did you load windows or was it pre installed and are you using any of your own hardware like ssd or hard drive put in yourself.

    No overclocking done on either the old or the new.
    Also, it USUALLY only does this within 1-2 minutes of startup. For example, I'll hit the power button, turn away for a few moments, turn back and its already glitching out like the video shows. Sometimes I will be able to open a few windows and start doing things and then it happens.
    I've never noticed if this happens without it being plugged in, as this computer is plugged in 99% of the time.

    Using new power brick it has done this, and using the old it has done this (both power bricks are identical).
    The Sager 9150 had Win 7 Pro installed. There was a brand new clean install done after it originally started doing this.
    The Clevo P150SM has Win 8.1 Pro installed. It was a clean install.

    They are both using Crucial M550 MSATA as their primary OS drive. The Sager a 512GB and the Clevo a 512GB.
    The Clevo has some of the gutted components from the Sager: 32GB of RAM, Blu-Ray Drive, the Sager's MSATA (previously its OS Drive) as a formatted and currently unused Data Drive, and a 1TB Crucial M550 SSD Data drive.

    So the Clevo has a new and never before used Crucial M550 MSATA SSD as its OS, and the two drives from the Sager as Data drives.

    Seems like your ram is faulty then, try running a single stick but also be aware the 1.5v ram from your 9150 is running out of spec as mobile Haswell only provides 1.35v.

    from your story, we can deduce that the most likely culprit is the ram.
    The machines are fine.

    As a general rule, if you transplant parts from machine to another and the problems persist, some of your parts are fault.

    It doesn't matter what part it is. Faulty parts can do crazy stuff.
