I think I bricked my P750DM-G. I flashed a custom firmware and then reset my BIOS to defaults and now it won't post, no fans turn on or anything. I tried holding Fn+B with stock BIOS files named "P750DM-G.ROM" and "bios.WPH" on a thumb drive plugged into the eSATA/USB combo port and nothing happens. No other ports light up when I press the power button with the drive plugged in.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Even then the exact file would help :)

    100% NOT!
My inbox is filled with people who bricked their systems while trying to mod it on their own and then want me to fix it.
Many of those guys announced right here on the forums that they have simply made their own Mods...But NONE of them has ever had the balls to also tell you the part of the story that ended with bricks, burned hardware and RMA on re-seller expenses...

Probably didn't read and flashed the ZM bios to the DM.

He couldn't even flash the system with anything but official files unless he tampered with it...later on once a security check is triggered it simply auto-bricks.

That's exactly what I did. Is there any way to undo it?

I accidentally flashed the ZM bios to it. Is there any recovery procedure I can follow?

You will need a new motherboard.

Unfortunately it's pretty difficult to recover from a bad cross flash like that.
And if Prema says its dead, then I'm not sure what else can be done. Other than going going full commando and desolder the BIOS chip, flashing the correct file to it and soldering it back on.

Did the EC Flashing complete as well?

But how did you get the wrong BIOS bro? Did your reseller send you the wrong one or what?

We've all had a facepalm moment...or two. Anyone who says they haven't is either lying or not pushing themselves very hard.

I was going to say exactly that. How does one flash the wrong Bios by mistake?

It's not just that, there is security in place on certain systems to prevent that. I kinda didn't know this myself until someone explained it to me.

Yeah I've never done it myself, thankfully, either intentionally or unintentionally, so I wouldn't know - and don't want to know - how easy of a mistake it is to make. Regardless, sounds like a nightmarish situation.

    LOL

Especially when flashing a BIOS, I triple check to make sure I am flashing the right BIOS for my laptop model and to ensure that it is the GSYNC or non GSYNC BIOS according to what my laptop is

Hey it's something that sucks what ever you were doing. Unfortunately it will now need a new motherboard, it's just the way it is sadly.

That's why I don't do BIOS flashes anymore unless absolutely essential! It can be really risky.. The crap that used to happen to a lot people with Asus G73JH really made me vary of doing BIOS flashes..

Perhaps it would be possible to de-solder the current BIOS chip and solder a replacement already configured BIOS chip.

Unsure if this would be a cheaper option but googling "bios chip repair service" comes up with a few websites that offer this service.

You would need a chip with a complete dump.
