    Hi all,

I've got a G860 (Kobalt edition) which has a few problems. The main one is that the HDMI port has started to artifact when connected to a HDMI screen. At first it wasnt so bad but now it's really affecting my use of the machine. As I use the laptop as a desktop replacement I spend around 95% of the time using it with my monitor (connected via HDMI).

I've swopped the HDMI cable and tried it with 2 different TV's and a Samsung HDMI LCD monitor and the same thing happens.

Any ideas for a self fix? Kobalt have quoted me nearly £300 for a replacement motherboard if it is a broken hdmi port on there (it's slightly out of warranty).

You could use a DVI-HDMI adapter but you'll loose the HDMI audio if you care about that.

If I wasn't clear enough you should try and see if the DVI out still works.
