One of the things I like about Mythlogic is that they give me nice and detailed steps.

They've even called me to let me know when they got the SSD I sent to them to be installed and when the IVB caused things to be delayed till next week.

I want to know the shipping days when it ships to Hong Kong.
Can any retailer give me the answer?
    Thanks

Yup, it's a nice convenience. I'm on pending parts atm. Hoping that it gets shipped out next week. That would allow me to play Diablo sooner rather than later. Any idea how long it takes to go from pending parts to shipping? Myth if you want to chime in?

They should really offer some type of compensation, like a pizza place, if your order isnt built in 5~7 days then ...free rush shipping or something idk

I wonder if this is normal? Mine went straight from stage 2 to shipped to me with a tracking number.

Did you order something that Xotic would then need to add to the shipment prior to its shipment to you?

I ordered the NP9150 Sager/150EM Clevo from xotic pc, and my production time was exactly 12 days. However, on the 10th day they notified me that they needed "approval" to install the i7-3160qm instead of the i7-2670qm I had originally picked. They said it was free, so I obliged. My order finally shipped yesterday. Original order was placed on 4-13-12.

    8gb 1600mhz Ram

Ahh looks like from this thread, the average total arrival time from Xoticpc will be 20-24 days from purchasing to receiving package.

But then again, most here did order before the 3rd gen IB came out so maybe Sager held it back so it can be added.

I ordered mines on May 1 and it got processed on May 2nd and sent to Phase 2 same day. But I assume production started May 3rd.

Hopefully mines will be ready some time next week since they have the IB's in stock. If it ends up the same route as you guys, guess I should of rushed, leaving abroad near end of May :/

Does anyone know if build times progress on weekends? I imagine it could be different depending on the seller too.

My first laptop (np8170) was pretty fast through xoticpc. I want to say it was like 10 days until it was in the mail from ordering, maybe a day or two less than that. The IVB delay is making every sager reseller look slow right now.

Yes, its going to be different depending on each. I know Mythlogic works half days on weekends and stages do progress.

I'm pretty sure all resellers process the orders and maintain the accounts but the actual laptops are built by Sager at Sager and then shipped direct to the customers, unless, there's a specific need for the reseller to have the laptop shipped to them first prior to going out to the customer.

As far as MSI, Asus, and other major brands, It would seem reasonable that they do those customizations in-house.

No, from what I've heard is that the resellers order the parts from Sager and then build it themselves, then ship it to the customers.

From what I've seen with the Xoticpc tour of their new facility on their site, it looks like they order the bare bones from Sager and have their assemble team put it together and then package and ship it themselves. The placed looked very structured.

And I remember reading how Sager only shipped their stuff in a single box while resellers have it double-boxed after burn ins then shipped

The way I said it was a nice way of putting it... Sager does the building.

Here is an email conversation I had within the last week... Names are withheld to protect the innocent. :)

    Me:
I did not know Sager handled the build, burn-in, shipping, etc... I thought it was handled at XOTIC PC... So maybe some of my email before and after the below email was a little on the naive side of things...

I apologize as you have no control over their processes/notifications/etc.

    CSR:
    Hello Jamie,
Don’t worry about it, a lot of people don’t know exactly how it works. As long as we get it all figured out in the end that’s all that matters. While Sager does the build you still want to contact us for any questions.

I wonder if anyone is waiting a laptop from Reflex Notebook.

While I understand we are in a transition to Ivy Bridge and new video cards, their communication hasn't been the best. At the beginning I was told that my laptop should ship the last week of April (I ordered on April 8th). Then I was told that they will get the new Intel shipment by April 30th with Ivy Bridge and today I emailed them asking for an update, and I haven't received an answer.

Their site has been showing the same "processing" for quite a while.

Don't feel bad I was told I am not even in processing with Sager yet.

At this point I am considering switching to the ATI card since it is so close to release and my notebook is nowhere to be found anyway.

We have less people on the weekends, but yes we do love what we do. A lot, or else we wouldn't do it all day everyday lol.

Also yes, we are switching to 1612's, today. We only did Chaos's first as we got our shipment of those first.

I meant nothing negetive by my post of course. I'm sure everyone in this thread knows the deal with the 7970m.

p.s you can start telling us without a "good" ETA. Any ETA will do. +- 7 days uncertainty works for everyone. Really :p

Let me see if I have a proper understanding of the build situation.

Sager does all of the actual system builds and then ships them to the resellers for minor system tweaks or directly to the customer if no tweaks are required.

The line we are standing in isn't the reseller we purchased the units from but ALL the customers of ALL the Sager resellers that have orders placed. That is why the resellers can't be more specific as to delivery times because they have no clue until your name and order number appears on Sagers magical Santa Claus list.

Once on Santa's list then your reseller has a glimmer of an idea of when you could POSSIBLY see your computer if the moon and the stars align just right.

Is this understanding flawed or very very very close to 100% accurate?

Just want to set my expectations low enough not to be disappointed again.

So you are also saying that it doesn't matter where we place the pre order since the delivery time will still be the same from Sager?

So far as I know this is the case for all the Sager Resellers. The only way it would be different is if you go with a Clevo Rebuilder such as Mythlogic. They, like Sager, get the parts direct from Clevo to assemble into systems.

Well, I'm awfully confused about where my laptop is in the process of things!

I order a Sager NP9170 from xoiticpc with IB and the 7970m on April 30th, which I thought was okay because it was right after IB became a valid option. I was paying via wire transfer though, and it took like 3 days for them to give me their freaking bank information, then *another* few days for the payment to clear on their end, and I didn't even hit "phase 2" till May 7th.

Then, unfortunately, it turned out there was some silly issue with my shipping information being entered wrong into the system, which xotic thankfully caught yesterday. I spent a bit of time on the phone correcting it with them, and as a bit of a lark also inquired if they knew anything about when the 7970 parts were getting in, as I knew my laptop wouldn't be finished at least until then. Received a fairly predictable response "Yep, that's true, Sager doesn't have those parts yet, etc," but the main point was that my shipping info was corrected so that was good.

But after that phone call, weird enough, my order status went from this: "Phase 2 (Sent for Custom Building / Testing / Burn In & Final QA)" to this "Phase 1 (Pending Parts or Item Arrival)". So I guess I've been bumped back a phase :( If I ever was in Phase 2. If these phases really mean a single thing at all! It does say in the most recent e-mail that "Production will be completed ASAP once the following item arrives in stock at Sager: Radeon 7970m (etc etc part info)". So I guess that's promising. But it's a bit discouraging to have made my order 11 days ago and production not to have started. I guess since I knew the 7970m wouldn't be in for a while, that's to be expected, though.... *sigh*

Basically, I'm okay with waiting. I'd kinda like this to be in my hands by May 20th, which is my birthday. Given that this is a birthday present. I thought ordering when I did would give me ample time, but I actually didn't *see* that the 7970m was not in stock when I ordered, so... yeah. Oh well. I probably won't get mine till early July or something, knowing my luck *sob*

I've finally gotten the UPS shipping info, and it should be here on May 16th. Good thing I havd a desktop to play Diablo III on, even though I have the collectors edition ordered from Newegg, so it probably won't get here until launch day or later anyway...

Can't keep from being excited, though. My 256gb SSD is just waiting to be slid into the computer!

    Woo!

...about 6 more days till laptop, about 5 more days till Diablo III...

Mines will be here on May 15th! So excited! Mines went into production the 2nd, so I guess it only takes 2 weeks total in most cases if your items are in stock.

Prior to Ivy Bridge, I guess it took them longer because Sager held back most of their laptops in mid-late April till the IB was put in so it took resellers longer to get them.

    I ordered through Mythlogic.

Have had three minor delays, and have been continuously updated, either by phone, email, or just checking their website. And I mean continuously. The same day my laptop undergoes test and burn-in they find a problem with the motherboard, that same day they order a new motherboard, update my status online, and email me.

The actual build time, originally was roughly 24 hours after they got all the parts (after a delay with IB, and a delay with backordered GTX 675m cards)

Same here. They got all the parts on Wednesday and the system was built on Thursday. I just don't know when they'll ship it if the QA goes well. I'm thinking that if QA is done tomorrow it'll be shipped off Monday morning, but I can't say.
