Hey, I was just wondering how the microphones on others' Sagers are. I for one have a 2090 and the microphone's sound quality is too poor for most people to understand me on Ventrilo. Also, this is one thing that I'm going to need to watch out for if I plan on buying an 8660 or an Asus G50.

built in mic's are not of brilliant quality
try though to switch on the booster
and play around with volume and eq settings to see if you can improve the sound pickup :)

When I try to talk to people it's full of static, my friend with a Dell doesn't have that problem with his. So, I'm assuming it's the hardware and not the software and settings.

I used the built-in mic for a long time, in ventrilo, teamspeak, and in-game for bf2142 and team fortress 2.

It's not the -greatest-, but it did a decent enough job. You just have to tweak the settings for each program so you get the right volume; what sounded good for ventrilo wouldn't for teamspeak and so forth, so you have to play with it a bit.

That said, I've now got the soundblaster x-fi expresscard and just use the mic jack in that with the mic/headphones that came with it, and it's quite nice.
